Webalizer resolves own domains
Posted by ErikPB, 08-06-2010, 02:52 AM | Hello,
I really hope somebody here can help me as I've been pulling my hairs out on this problem. I'm running a Debian Lenny server running Apache2. I have installed Webalizer 2.01-10 using apt.
It does indeed produce statistics on the requests being done to the webserver, however it's not determining properly the referrers and their locations. For example I host 3 domains a.nl, b.eu and c.at. If I request a.nl/index.html it's logging a referrer of a.nl/index.html and not the IP of x.x.x.x that I'm actually using to access this site. That results in the referrer locations to always log unresolved(.eu),Netherlands(.nl) and Austria(.at).
So even if visitors from China or Mexico or wherever would visit my .nl domain, it would refer as a visitor from the Netherlands.
My apache logs do however log properly the originating IP.
I must be doing something wrong in my webalizer.conf but have no clue. Could someone help me out?
