It's gotten to the point......

where I am no longer looking for a deal. I need a good, reliable host with good, reliabe support. I don't care about the money anymore. I have realized that if I wish to continue to serve my webdesign customers and maintain a professional appearance, I'm going to have to invest some money into hosting. I cannot afford to continue to use low-cost hosting with shotty support and constant downtimes anymore. Please list some of the "Big Dog" hosting companies out there that provide great support and uptime. It's time for this change. <<< Signatures need to be set up in your profile. >>> Last edited by SoftWareRevue; 12-11-2004 at 10:07 PM.

Good stuff, great to see someone actually caring about where their clients are hosted for a change.

I agree. The quickest way to go backwards, is to use inferior quality suppliers. Pay that little more, and you and your clients can sleep at night.

yeh I agree. I used zoneserv just for friends and some backups, and I still got my fingers burnt. My reputation would be gone if I used them for real clients...

Host your own, at least you control the hardware , software , the up links and so on. It is a great feeling to feel you are in control!

Some of the more reputable reseller account providers include: httpme.com bluewho.com You can check them out.

Not everyone has the ability to colo their own hardware etc. That's a few rungs up the ladder, and would be daunting and out of most folk's reach. Control is an illusion, but I agree with what you're saying.

echazen, I would just like to say welcome and congrats for making the transition. As mentioned already so many times, the best thing to do is do some looking, around the board, and then research each company. Take each review, complaint, praise, with a grain of salt. Remember, that there is not one company in existance that can please everyone.

Good stuff, shows you really care about your clients as opposed to most people whom don't really care about the clients, just how much $$$ they will make.

Good for you, echazen ! Wish more people had that realization

Actually Time is an illusion, lunchtime doubly so.

When I worked at Qwest, any form of relaxation including restroom breaks were illusions.

I am with Citadelhost for almost a year and they have good enough uptime and support for me. FYI, these are some companies that have many good comments for a long time here (beside bluewho and httpme): Matrixreseller P4host diyhosting Good luck, Danny

Uptime? Support? Those are your hot buttons? Fine: Hosting Matters Look no further. They've been around for a long time and if you do some searching here you'll find that they generally have nothing but good things said about them. Annette's a community leader around here... and rightly so; and for all the disagreements that she and I have had over the past four years, she's arguably one of the best server techs -- perhaps the best -- in the business. I kid you not. From the very first day that she and Stephanie launched that business, it's been about uptime and support. Now, five or so years later, it's still about uptime and support. They've had their growing pains, but if longevity, stability, and the stunning relative lack of negative comments around here is any indicator, Hosting Matters has much of which to be proud. I say again: Look no further. Merry Christmas!
