im using cpanel can a jail shell su to root?

If you mean the root access of the server, then no. A jail shell has restrictions on it that limit activities to your own account, this helps to prevent malicious activities to be run on the server.

if you mean that a user whom you have jailshell,then yes they cannot open the root access,and also even though you have not jailshelled any user and they are not in wheelgroup of ssh,then still they cannot "su" and login as root thanks kind regards
