Charter Blacklist

Posted by Ankheg, 03-14-2006, 04:37 PM
Charter is blocking all incoming emails from one of our mailservers at the SMTP level, and I haven't a clue why. The IPs are clear in all the blacklists, PTR records exist, and the server has averaged eight messages to charter.net addresses a week, so it's not like we're innundating them with mail or something. They don't have any sort of postmaster info online, like AOL and Hotmail do; they don't accept email to postmaster@charter.net, and the clueless kid I got on the phone when I called their customer support apparently hadn't read the chapter about email in the corporate three-ring binder; he kept putting me on hold to talk to someone else, who had no more clues to rub together than the first kid. Eventually they denied all knowledge of the problem and started lieing left, right, and center to me... ...which brings me to my question - Anyone had this problem with Charter before? Are there any competent people there, and any way to get ahold of them? I'm seriously about this close --> <-- to just blacklisting their domain and IPs on all our mailservers after this...

A suggestion is to send a message to isprelations@charter.net - exactly the same as you would send to anyone else... Good luck. I'm having similar issues with my clients's newsletters.

This thread was over three years old, wonder if he was still looking for an answer?

That's interesting. I've been having such an issue with these guys I wasn't even paying attention to the date. I can honestly say that Charter is no friend to hosting professionals. Even three years later. I was having the same problem. It took me 4 calls to get the information I received. I don't think they have a level 2 tier support. If you are not a charter customer, your life is even more difficult...just venting.
