Question about overselling using WHM?

Posted by ndxb, 07-08-2004, 06:25 AM
Hello, A bit confused about this overselling feature in WHM. I set up a reseller with the following specs (2GB Disk Space and 20 GB Bandwidth). Next I gave him reseller privileges, and I chose to limit his resources to 2000 MB Disk Space and 20 GB Bandwidth (in Edit Privileges section) with the overselling option ticked. So I just want to understand something: When my reseller creates his accounts, he can oversell. But once his resource usage exceeds the amount that I originally set for him (while creating his account in WHM), then his account will be suspended correct -- so he can oversell, but he cannot use more than what I allocated him? Also, I do not give the resellers ownership of their own account -- that is not a problem is it? If I did give them ownership and they went and modified their own *main* account to have more than 2GB disk space/20 GB bandw, this wouldnt override my main account limit set in WHM -- or will it? Thanks

I don't believe that it will overwrite the setting in the reseller privileges area.

We give the reseller control of the main account. Control is the key. Nopes, it's just like overselling. They can change it but it doesn't affect the WHM setting.
