Completely Managed?

Posted by CArmstrong, 06-19-2004, 01:35 AM
As some of you know from my other threads, I'm considering starting to resell dedicated servers. I want to provide my clients with the best service possible, and I'd like to offer a complete management service. My main question is: what exactly does this include? I know I'll work with the provider about reboots, crashes, etc. I also know that I'll be installing software for the client, performing kernel and software upgrades, etc. What else am I missing though? I'm not even sure if they'll need the root password for the box if I'll be controlling everything. Thanks!

What level of management do you want to provide?

I am not 100% but don't you think it would be a potential security risk to give the root password to your clients?
