Recently my stupid host went down. All my mails went missing and i received lots of phone call from my clients. I got so pissed I went to look for backup mail servers and DNS solutions There are a few companies offering backup mx and DNS, I found: Microtech - http://www.microtech.co.gg/dns/email_server.php ServerAddress - http://www.serveraddress.com/ DNSmadeeasy - http://www.dnsmadeeasy.com/s0306/prod/mailbk.html DNSExit - http://www.dnsexit.com/Direct.sv?cmd=backupMx I don't really have volume yet, so I chose server address..I'm pretty satisfied with their service so far. 20+ domains with them, and so far no complaints. They're the cheapest around too i think, based on my volume. Be safe or sorry, just my 2cents. Please let me and everyone know if theres are any cheap and good backup host if you do find them ard. Thanks! Guess everyone have came across this kind of downtime experience. "please excuse the bad english "

We 5 servers for shells and webhosting etc. We spread dns across all five of these servers which are in two datacenters. We have had 0 dns downtime.

I see where you are getting, but i'm refering to reseller hosting. Most reseller hosting doesn't come with backup mail server and backupdns server. And their primary and secondary DNS is running from the same machine. In your case, you run your server, thus spreading your DNS entries is easier.

Hmm, maybe more personal experience would be prefered. How long have you tried them, how good and easy to use their services are.

Well I am not with DDI for a long time, its just couple of days. But so far I am having good experience with them. In terms of their services, to me its seem pretty cool. The response time is excellent. Tickets are answered within 30 Minutes to max 5-6 Hrs. I remember 30 minutes is the one related to error that I faced with mysql. The 6 hour one was the one, when I was seeking some information on private name servers. Last edited by NeoGen; 07-07-2004 at 01:06 PM.

They are indeed one of the cheapest around. May consider them maybe later in the year. Rather new company though, keep us informed on their services.
