Does anyone know what is up with rs / robin ? All my sites went down this morning. Support has been patchy lately, but still existant. I'm kinda concerned now. I hope he hasn't done a runner.

I agree with that, but the majority of web hosts don't have contact numbers so I suppose a lot of customers tend to expect there to be no number

Kilo, have you tried looking up their whois information? There might be a phone number listed there that you could try. Do they offer IM support? Forums? Just some thoughts. Some hosts prefer not to offer phone support because of the cost involved. Lower prices means they (usually) don't need to jack up their costs. You have to go with what's comfortable for you though .

I think those hosts that do not provide "phone support" should provide an emergency number or an offsite support desk. Nothing worse then sitting at your computer starring at an error screen and not knowing what to do next.

I believe most hosts that dont provide a contact number is because they either go to school or have a second job and rather not be contacted. Probably a one man show
