Posted by frki1, 12-22-2009, 02:28 PM
Hy, I would like to ask if any has a solution why KVM remote console from Super Micro IPMIview gets "connection failed" when trying to connect in server. The option of reset and shutdown of server works normaly, and KVM remote console works normaly for one day after that i get connection failed and cannot log in in remote console. After that i change IP manualy in Bios KVM again works for one day. Remote console has dedicated IP. i triedt to stop iptables but the problem continues. any solutions? tnx

I use IPMIView with my softlayer servers. Everytime I get that error, I usually request to flush my IPMI firmwire. It does work like a charm.

Hy, Tnx on info. How dou you flush firmware. For me it works when i change Ip but what is the point of remote console if i need to go to datacentar and change manualy IP in Bios. So my question is how to flush firmware? Oh yes, when i restarted IPMI he didnt went up until i went in DC and changed manualy IP.

Each time I face the problem, I request this to datacenter, they do the job for me I don't really know how do they flush it though.
