Cpanel DNS clustering Help needed

Posted by andrew12, 12-10-2009, 07:09 PM
i have a server with latest whm ; it has ips 1.2.3.4 and 1.2.3.5 and nameservers ns1.domain.com (1.2.3.4) and ns2.domain.com (1.2.3.5) all accounts on the server are x.ourdomain.com , so when a user is registered, it gets username.ourdomain.com now i added a second server (with ip 1.2.3.6) and put there ns1.ourdomain.com and ns2.ourdomain.com as well (because i had no idea what else to put) ; what i want is ns2.domain.com to change into 1.2.3.6 and be the secondary dns. but more important, i set up clustering between the servers and all is switched on , but it is not sending the zones from server 1 to server 2. if i click synchronize it does a lot of stuff,f but nothing appears on the new server so the end situation should be a) ns1.domain.com is primary on server 1 b) ns2.domain.com is secondary on server 2 (that's a change) c) when a new account 'username.ourdomain.com' is made on either server1 or server 2 the dns should be correct on both that's it I would love to get a server administrator but dont have the budget and want to learn stuff. if comeone can advise me on this as how do i proceed, it would be helpful

You can use the below setup, Server 1 : IP : 192.168.0.100 - ns1.maindomain.com Server 2 : IP : 192.168.1.123 - ns2.maindomain.com Both servers needs to be DNS clustered.. Make sure the connection established correctly.. Also check the Firewalls on both servers. You can check the detailed information at : http://twiki.cpanel.net/twiki/bin/vi...nfigureCluster
