Posted by gate2vn, 11-03-2003, 11:21 PM
I am looking for a hosting service provider allow us to create sub-resellers. I mean I will sign up a reseller account with the provider, and then I can create packages for end users, as well as create my own sub-reseller as the provider providing me. Please suggest a good one. thanks

I think for the most part this is going to a be a bit harder to find. I at least know with cPanel that this cannot be done without pretty much root access to the server. If you want to resell space, perhaps you should look into your own server, find some sort of affiliate program or sales job, or even possibly split a server with somone you trust, although I wouldn't really recommend the latter. Hopefully someone will come along and prove me wrong in this post and suggest you a good provider, but I know of none.

no you cant create sub-, sub- receller account untill you have root access. and it's not desirable system. You got a receller plan, then make sub-receller, then your sun-receller make a sub-sub-receller, then the sub-.....

Nocster has a dedicated server reseller program, I think they also let you resell their reseller and hosting plans, but I don't know how profitable that would be. If you have no experience with server administration I would not recommend a dedicated server unless you can also afford to pay a administrator.

Recipe for disaster, what you're pretty much asking, is for the host to share their servers with you, LITERALLY

Grab one of the vps packages (servint, jvds, ...) with cpanel on. Then you will be the owner of the "server" and you will be able to have your own resellers.

Perhaps you can start with selling a reseller package (just like your own primary account) of hosting provider and just make adjustment on your pricing. If I'm not mistaken CitadelHost allows this. However, giving access to your client's Webhost Manager is another issue for your provider to remain anonymous.

Just jumping in to prove you wrong. This is VERY possible on cPanel servers without providing root access.

Care to elaborate? I have not had any problems with it for the past 4 years. Maybe you should re-think the way you are doing it.
