Posted by shanti, 10-26-2003, 03:12 PM
I am currently with ASPwebserver.com and i think i am ready to go elsewhere, since they have terrible dowtimes and even worse support (they deny they have ANY dowmtime everytime i send them an email) after looking around a bit i haven't been able to find a hosting that suits my needs. most of my customers use ASP so these are my needs Reseller hosting with at least 10 domains i guess 7gb - 10 gb minimum traffic (or unlimited ) at least 500 mb of space at least 10 pop emails per domain ASP support a must PHP support would be nice MySql would also be nice ACCESS (ODBC) a must also my budget is not that much, around 100 - 200 dlls a year Citadel hosting seems to be very nice but they do not support ASP else i would go with them. please help me on this Thanks in Advance Shanti Castillo G.

I'm guessing the "unlimited" was a joke?

Shanti, Looks like you should be looking at Windows webhosting if you require ASP. Generally, Windows webhosting is more expensive due to licensing so expect to pay more than its Linux counterpart. You might want to take a look at www.fluidhosting.com

You are better served by searching the board... I love Fluidhosting.com uptime/support... but the costs are very high for resellers. If you can stomach paying $44 per month for only 15 GB bandwidth and 12 accounts, they might work for you. You really need to look for a company dedicated to reselling windows hosting. You can look for www.weberz.com . ALthough not cheap at $39 per month, but their support is good.

Windows server cost you more. Why on earth no body crammed asp to linux but php can fit in well with windows server? I'm jealous...

well, there is http://www.chilisoft.com/ which runs ASP on linux to a very large extent.

Based on your inputs you can get a Reseller space in Windows with all the features you have specfied for Hosting Companies from India. Though all these Servers are located in US they are basically Remote Monitored from India. As you should be aware that Labour cost in India is cheaper this is a quite common feature over there, and the services are good. Even iam rather a Reseller since 1999 and have been purchasing space from these companies. Please let me know where u r located as such. S. Rathana Prasad srathanaprasad@yahoo.co.in

Do a search and you'll find out that it's not that easy. Especially - the asp developers now moving to asp.net and (ofcorse) - using MS SQL as database. So Windows hosting is different (and more expensive) game.

I think you got me wrong. I was never advocation for Chilisoft. Infact, I would never suggest going in for it if one has to go for ASP, .Net or no .Net. I was just putting up facts.
