Hi Guys, I am new to this forum, so hiya all! I have been searching the net to find a good reseller hosting company. I wish to start my own hosting business. I need a good unix hosting reseller. Any recommandations? A Turn-Key option is a plus! Kind Regards, Johnka Last edited by johnka; 10-29-2003 at 10:59 AM.

Hiya again. Forgot to mention that I have already found some companies, but I need your comments and advice on them: bulixhost.com resellerspanel.com lightningservers.com hostdime.com The trick is, that I need just to re-sell accounts. I don't want to purchase a reseller plan and then build my own accounts and resell them. Don't want to make an investment you know.)) Cheers.

This worries me just a bit. IMHO perhaps you should think twice about being in the business. Part of starting out in the hosting industry, and other industries for that matter is putting money into what you're doing in order to get anything out of it. If you're not willing to put money and effort into your company, I would advise you to seriously think twice about what you want to do. Just please make sure that you know this is what you want to do, and don't leave customers hanging when you decide you don't want to be a host anymore. Anyways, try a search on this forum for feedback on those providers. Often you'll come up with some very good information.

Hiya again CrazyTech, Thanks for your advice. However, I think that you misunderstood me. Some reseller hostings offer the reseller to purchase a big hosting account, then split it into many smaller accounts and then resell them. The problem is, that you pay for the big account each month, and maybe you won't sell even one small account the whole month. Other hosting resellers offer that the reseller resell directly hosting accounts, without purchasing any reseller packages. That's why I need such host, where to pay only for advertising and stuff.... I searched the forum like you said, however nothing came up on the first two... They look really good, but I am still a little bit afraid.)

Ah, well I am glad that I was wrong. You'd be suprised at the posts that say "I want to create a host but don't want to put any money into it" Well judging from the costs of the first two, things seem good at first glance. That's just one minor detail of course.

Yep, I am just a little bit disappointed that noone else here have an opinion on those. I could't find anything about BulixHost here.... They seem so damn good.

In many cases looks can be deceiving. Have you tried sending them some questions to "test the waters" and see how fast they are?

Posted by johnka, 10-30-2003, 08:09 AM
Well Their ticketing system appears to be fast. I mean they responded in about 20 minutes. I will probably give it a try and resell some accounts there to see how it works. I will post a feedback when I get some experience with them...

Please keep us updated. Looks good to have quick responses to your tickets/inquiries. This is generally a great way to test a host out. Often it's a good idea to vary the times you ask as well. Such as during business(daylight America for example) then perhaps late at night or very early in the morning depending upon what you're looking for and what they offer.

CrazyTech, As you probably saw my previous topic, I decided to go for them. The system is nice and friendly. You should give them a try since the signup is free. I already created some hosting accounts. It is fast and easy. And most important - they handle all the billing transactions. I cannot understand other reseller programs, that just give you a big hosting account that you can split and resell. They don't provide anything - no support for the hosting clients, no transaction handling. You have to do all this by yourself....

I was aware that you signed up for this. Just offering some general advice that may be useful to you or anyone that reads this thread at some point. Thanks also for the recommendation to try them, but I have all I could ever need and more. Please do not take this to be rude, but this exact atitude is why many don't need to be in the industry, although I respect you tremendously for taking the time to find a host that fits your needs and not expecting to actually do any work, but pick up the profit. Companies offer this type of plan because in order to start a business, you must do a little work. They provide you the support, which in turn you're expected to have at least a basic knowledge to help your clients, or come and ask them. The internet has made many people forgetful of one important factor. It takes money to make money. I'm not trying to flame you, but you have to understand that the above things you mentioned are part of running your own business.

Yep. Since I am kinda new to this I will learn as I experience. Many thanks for all your advice!

No problem at all. Just visit WHT often and listen to what some of the members have to say. You will often here great information from those that are much wiser than myself. I wish you luck with everything!
