Install ftp on VPS

Posted by dennyjames, 08-23-2009, 11:58 AM
Can anyone give a guide on how to install FTP on a linux VPS like pure FTP or similar and advise how to create a user for a specific folder? This is to be done by SSH as I have no control panel I want to be able to upload mp3's by ftp to my VPS that has cast control on it. There is only the one account that has the auto DJ. Some one has done this for me in the past but I need to learn myself so any guides or pointers appreciated. I know a little SSH as I did install cast control (LITE) this way, following their guide but I am not a technical guru, not even a geek..... lol. Thanks.

sudo apt-get install vsftpd. Make sure you disable anonymous login and enable local user in /etc/vsftpd.conf
