FFMPEG and rmvb?

Posted by jhyland87, 08-22-2009, 03:26 PM
Hey guys, I have a customer who is requesting to have the rmvb extension added to FFMPEG, Im sure this is possible, but I havent been able to find out any good information on it. Have any of you accomplished this? Do you have any good resources you can share? I researched it, but I didnt find a good tutorial. FFMPEG is compiled via YUM on a centOS OS. Would this require an entire FFMPEG recompile? Or just a small modification...? Thanks!

Dear jhyland87, This can be done. Yum installed pre-compiled binary files. Codec Support for real files are lacking so in most cases ffmpeg won't be able to handle the files but still we can give a try to this. This require recompilation of ffmpeg along with all other modules. Best Regards.
