| Posted by blab, 06-02-2003, 09:42 AM | | ok, i signed up with fdc reseller cause i was amazed at the costs, and i setup my domains and such, was going good. but servers always going down ALL THE TIME. its insane. my site was down for 3 hours, then it went back up now its down again like what is going on? the dedicated servers are up and running i have a bunch of friends in my city who have dedicated servers and they are happy with their servicies. like what is the big issue with the reseller server, its just a dedicated server with a cpanel. is their a problem with administering the machine? why is there a need to reboot the machine so often, I have been a system admin for many webhosting companies and our uptimes have been over a year. there is no need to reboot a machine when you make changes to it. I just want stable service thats all. when i signed up thats what i expected, to get my moneys worth, to pay month by month, over and over. like everyone else here. same with dedicated server people. i am sure everyone wnats to be happy customers. just my thoughts. so whoever is admining the servers now just get your act together.

I think they should arrange several small servers instead of arranging all the resellers on one powered server. Everytime it goes down, all of them post here... I can't understand why they insist on having all the resellers on Imperial. I don't believe they don't have money to buy other servers...

Well, the explanation from Adam (Ex-Admin ... got fired?) is that my site (which for a month hasnt been on FDC) causes all the downtime. You probably notice that this is not true.
I am not sure what causes the downtime. FDC has always had a major problem with downtime, but now it seems like the same downtime that usually occured, is starting to last longer.
FDC hasn't really ever given an explanation for this, that I am aware of. If anyone has gotten an explanation for it, can you please post it here?
I also believe that they should have a bunch of small servers. As it only takes one simple thing to take down everyone if they are all on one server.
