Steadfast (Chicago) down?

Posted by nomx, 08-31-2008, 03:31 PM
Does anyone have any information on this? Our server in Chicago isn't pinging and tracerts start dropping after the first Steadfast hop.

The network is up from here... what hop exactly is it failing at as it may just be your server?

Here's my tracert. It's failing at the first Steadfast hop for me. Could be just one of the networks.

The next hop would be your server, so it doesn't appear to be a network issue. Here's an excerpt of a traceroute to a server on the same subnet that's functioning fine: 8 as32748.tge8-4-116.ar1.ord1.us.nlayer.net (69.31.111.34) 24.439 ms 23.939 ms 23.828 ms 9 ip17.208-100-32.static.steadfast.net (208.100.32.17) 23.950 ms 24.170 ms 23.917 ms 10 intentionally.removed.server (67.202.64.xxx) 24.059 ms 24.060 ms 23.936 ms Have you contacted SteadFast yet?

Yes, we've contacted Steadfast. Just seeing as they've had many problems in the past few months with DDOS attacks, just figured I'd check here to see if anyone else had this issue as well. I just hope they have someone checking their support system on Sundays. Edit: They replied saying they restarted the server. However, still cannot ping or trace to it. Thanks for the responses, hopefully this gets worked out soon. Last edited by nomx; 08-31-2008 at 03:51 PM.

Just to clarify, as was stated, there were no network issues on our side. This was a specific issue with the one individual server. In the future, please address such single-server issues with our support staff directly as we do have 24/7 on-site support.
