xCache - Errors after migration from CentOS to Windows
Posted by mreyes, 04-11-2009, 08:54 AM | Hello all,
I have just migrated my server from a Linux CentOS VPS to a dedicated Windows Web Server 2008, everything seems to have gone quite well except xcache.
I have installed xCache v1.2.2 with the following configuration:
If I open phpinfo I can see that xcache is loaded and can see the settings, I have also installed the xcache admin panel and I am able to access that without problem.
However if I enable xcache on in the PHP scripts (vbulletin) file I get multiples of the following errors:
Now unless I am being thick, var_size is currently set to 128M, it was originally 4M but as the error suggested "too small" I upped it a little with no affect.
The only thing I can think might be related to this is that I am using PHP 5.2.6 and I am using xCache 1.2.2 for PHP 5.2.5 as there is no 5.2.6 version

Having look into this further I am still unable to find a solution, however hopefully the following information might help somebody to help me:
Server Spec:
Windows Web Server 2008
IIS7
Plesk 9
I am running three domains on this server, I have tried xcache on both the others and found that it is working fine. The php file appears in the admin page, and the following PHP outputs correctly:
So it looks like xcache isn't "enabled" for the third domain, sods law is that this is the one I need it on
The only thing I can think might be relevant here is that I added the domain to plesk after I had installed and configured xcache on the server.

When I setup the problem domain on the server, as it is the busiest of all my sites, I decided to give it a dedicated application pool.
This meant that it was not able to access xcache and was assuming default settings, i.e. a var size of 0 - I have now killed the dedicated app pool and all is working fine.
