I am going to sign up a company as reseller. When I ping their server,I get 28Xms.It's from HK to USA.Is this ping time acceptable? That company server with 1G CPU and 1G Ram. If one server with 512MB ram but ping time shorter. Which company should I choose is better? Last edited by nba2003; 05-08-2002 at 10:51 PM.

The most important think is to ping both servers many times, in different hours around the clock, night and day...don't mean to become a nightmare for you....just check them for some days before you order. Although my poor experience make me tell you that it's a bit uselless. As today you can get good ping numbers for a company's server and in a month things change to the opposite. More experts guys (in these forums) will give you more infos about pinging.

Ping isn't that important, don't let it be the deciding factor. Different geographic locations will affect ping times - hosts you ping closer to home will return a lower result. Matt
