Well I know...this has been discussed hundreds of times and I've checked almost all the previous threads. So now I have to decide about the credit card charger I'll have to use : Which one do you suggest from these 3 (also having in mind of how easy is to use and "hidden" and non prices) : 2checkout Revecom Hostcharge Thank you.

Mike, What are your requirements of these services? The amount of inflow of sales, the country you reside in, the technical nature of your site will determine people's responses (Well Should Anyway) Without that information there really is nothing to say. Personally Hostcharge not having a privacy policy sends up a bright red flag for me. Revecom, Ive heard some problems with refunding a customer, not billing recurring correctly with. I use 2checkout and with the exception of some server overloads, it has worked out quite well for me. When I takes sales over 400 dollars I request this by money order if possible. A site I am working on was budgeted for 1400 dollars. Since I require 40 percent up front for design, that equals $560 dollars that needs to be in my hand before I begin their project. That 560 dollars transfered through 2checkout will cost me 30 bucks to take in, errrr, nah I will wait for an International Money order of some type. Then the difference from 560 to 1400, I end up paying 2checkout some 95 bucks just to take the darned order, and the other two services are going to yield similiar results. I suggest if you are not taking a lot in sales, but you are taking in multiple orders you try 2checkout (Depending on your needs), if you are taking larger orders (over 500 a sale)< then your best bet is a real merchant account through your bank.

Perfect, sir! Thank you very much! I wish all answers in all forums around the net were like yours! Thanks again. I'll do a bit more searching and then I'll decide.

Hi Mike, Samuel hit the nail on the head. Look at your business and what you expect sales to be. Once you have an estimate of what you expect each sale will be (on average) and the number of sales you expect per month, it is simply a case of finding the processor that offers the best plan to fit your needs. It's not just about transaction percentages or transaction fees, it is about the whole cost of doing business with the processor you choose. Someone charging you 3.2% and $0.30 per transaction looks far better than 5.5% and $0.45 on the face of it. But if there is a $10.00 statement charge, $35.00 a month gateway fee, $3.00 charge to receive payments etc.....it certainly changes the overall prices. The plan adding all the extra prices could still be cheaper, dependant on the order values and the amount you process. Do a bit of research, ask a lot of questions from the companies you are considering using....and use the WHT forum for feedback from people using the services you require.
