I've got a couple of servers there for test purposes, and they've been incredibly flaky network wise.

And, they have no ETA...

I have a Remote Reboot port, rebooting has not worked for past 6 hours. I have already submitted a ticket - 1513764 No reply , yet.

Maybe your server needs a fsck? Contact them to check the server locally.

Posted by ZaxiHosting, 06-11-2008, 05:10 AM
Hi - just a note. About your ticket in our department, our apologies for having 6 hours without reply. We had a problem with the support software(whmcs) as you were maybe see. As I check, your server is online. If there is any problem, contact us and we will resolve it as soon as possible,as always Regards

Posted by ishan, 06-11-2008, 05:15 AM
It was a network problem, their technician clarified. Zaxi, It is not your fault, I had submitted a ticket to BurstNET support, directly. Ishan

Posted by Leriss, 06-11-2008, 08:10 AM
We had the same problem about a month ago... they were unable to fix it in like 1 week so we moved out of BurstNET.

Posted by Jonathan J, 06-11-2008, 11:53 AM
I don't think this affected every server as my server was up during this period.

Posted by JohnJ, 06-11-2008, 04:32 PM
I've not experienced any issues, all has been fine for my server.

& we are down AGAIN !

Posted by Jonathan J, 06-12-2008, 03:21 PM
If it helps, your website is showing up for me. Though my server has been up constantly! Good luck in getting any problems solved buddy.

Posted by ishan, 06-12-2008, 03:37 PM
Yes, it was resolved in about 15 min. I like BurstNET's tech support, they solve problems REALLY FAST. But, the problem with them is that they have TOO many problems.

Posted by RWMedia, 06-12-2008, 03:41 PM
It's a good think you are now sorted. Have heard alot about burst!

Posted by HostJedi, 06-12-2008, 03:48 PM
None of these are network-wide issues, and are server specific. Please deal with these issue directly with our Support Dept. . .

Posted by RalphC, 06-13-2008, 02:08 AM
The network seems to be slow right now. The help desk is slow and my server is slow. Also, you guys need to buy perl desk....the current version is awful looking...and i believe that you guys need a better billing system as well and a updated version of vbulletin.

Posted by MikeDVB, 06-13-2008, 02:09 AM
Burst.net itself (their site) is loading *very* slowly for me if at all. It even sent me to google once or twice while trying to look at their site. Wonder what's going on.

Posted by MikeDVB, 06-13-2008, 02:12 AM
And now it loads just fine - very strange.

Posted by Calinax, 06-13-2008, 02:34 AM
Above is a response from one of the techs....

Posted by redlander, 06-13-2008, 07:27 PM
Yeah, that seems to be the automatic response to any question about network issues, even when it's plainly obvious that something is going on :/ <...waits for Mr Burst to come along and tell us we're all wrong>

Posted by HostJedi, 06-13-2008, 09:58 PM
That is correct: there are no known network-wide issues any time recently.. . .

Posted by djblamire, 06-14-2008, 04:48 AM

Posted by hornstar, 06-14-2008, 06:20 AM
yeah mine is down, I can only access it for about 10 seconds every few minutes. I just keep getting connection reset messages. With this amount of people having problems there has to be something up with the network...

Posted by Calinax, 06-14-2008, 06:21 AM
They really need to improve the network......

Posted by ZaxiHosting, 06-14-2008, 06:22 AM

Yeah we are showing as down at the moment as well...anyone know whats going on?? Even the burstnet site is seriously slow and wont load half the time.

Posted by cabron, 06-14-2008, 06:31 AM
From Chicago, IL i'm getting 150 ms pings on XO and just 35 on cogent... so XO seems to have the issues

Posted by Jonathan J, 06-14-2008, 06:31 AM
I called it up and it gave the option to show or tell the network status and it said the following: There are no-known issues with the network. I'll speak to their customer service. Edit: I couldn't get in contact with their customer service. :/ - I left them a message however. Last edited by Jonathan J; 06-14-2008 at 06:35 AM.

Did you try the Technical dept.? I expect however they will be getting a lot of calls about this...

Posted by plugh, 06-14-2008, 06:38 AM
connection down for me to.

Posted by Jonathan J, 06-14-2008, 06:40 AM
From what I could tell they were the samething as *I think* it listed both of them. We will have to wait, though I'll give another call on the status of the network, might have changed now. Edit: no, same message as before, I've rang up the support dept now, hopefully I'll get a reply.

Posted by Jonathan J, 06-14-2008, 06:45 AM
I managed to get through to the support department and they said they are working on the issue, the guy said there was a network distribution problem.

Posted by Peter-SexyWing, 06-14-2008, 06:46 AM
maybe they try to push their specail too much without detailed planning

Posted by slackerpunk, 06-15-2008, 09:25 AM
This must be a joke and to think we are not yet a month old with the dedibox that we are renting from them

Posted by da_rockman, 06-15-2008, 09:40 AM
My server has been down since around 7AM EST. 66.96.X.X I have contacted both my reseller and burst.net and have not heard back yet (though it has only been a few minutes)

Posted by Dougy, 06-15-2008, 09:47 AM
I wonder what's going on that they're having such high levels of downtime.. the same attack?

Posted by da_rockman, 06-15-2008, 09:52 AM
Actually I am able to SSH into my server, found out it was rebooted this morning. None of my websites are working though. Trying to figure this out, will update if I find anything. Currently, in my case, it does not appear to be a network issue entirely.

Posted by DT-Spirit, 06-15-2008, 09:45 PM

Posted by HostJedi, 06-16-2008, 09:21 AM
People....these are NOT network-wide issues. If you are having a server issue, please contact our reboot or support depts. Incorrectly reporting as a network issue gets no one anywhere... . .

Posted by Calinax, 06-16-2008, 11:05 AM
and may I know why am I getting this error from Firefox(don't have IE to try): when trying to visit burst.net or nocster.com I assume this is a server issue, not a network issue...

Posted by HostJedi, 06-16-2008, 11:42 AM
Please contact our Support Dept for assistance...this is not a network issue. . .

Posted by ishan, 06-16-2008, 01:19 PM
I am getting 20-70 kbps out on a 100 mbit connection. Extremely slow speeds. I already submitted a ticket, no reply , yet.

is it me or burst is down again?

Posted by Calinax, 06-18-2008, 03:45 AM
Its you....only a couple of our down, which isn't a network issue though. Rest are up..

Posted by tansu, 06-19-2008, 12:15 PM
no problem in Turkey.

Posted by HostJedi, 06-19-2008, 01:59 PM
<< Burstnet is loading fine here atm, but hopefully these issues get resolved. Glad to see them addressing this thread though anyhow >> There are no issues---these are server-specific problems, that should not be getting posted to a "network outage" forum---it accomplishes nothing, and nothing will get resolved unless the individual follows proper procedure and contacts our support/reboot depts for assistance, as we do not provide support/reboot thru WHT. . .

Posted by Jonathan J, 06-19-2008, 05:06 PM
Well there 'were' issues with the network (Thus why the thread was posted here), which I phoned (And they confirmed that the network was having problems) up about however things seemed to be solved for now.

Posted by slackerpunk, 06-19-2008, 10:39 PM
anyone having speed issues with burstnet right now? not sure if it's me as their forums is also loading up slow on my end

Posted by Cody Salter, 06-19-2008, 10:57 PM
There is an isolated network issue that they are aware of. It isn't network wide but it is affecting servers in a specific network segment/location. Networking is already working on it but there is no ETA at this time.

Posted by slackerpunk, 06-19-2008, 11:01 PM
Hey thanks Cody... my sites were loading blazing fast like an hour ago and now it crawling seeing my sql queries take less than 1 sec to finish I am inclined on thinking that it could be their network. I am at work right now so I cannot access my server over ssh

Posted by HostJedi, 06-19-2008, 11:02 PM
Yes, there is a massive attack going on right now. We are mitigating most of it, but there are some residual affects. We should have it cleared up in full shortly though... . .

Posted by Argyle, 06-19-2008, 11:59 PM
Seems to have gone back to normal now.

Posted by Encrypted, 06-20-2008, 01:09 AM
I got rid of my server awhile ago, not due to problems or anything.. (ran outa money)... but I think Burst needs to build a brand new facility and redesign their website, billing, and all that.

Posted by glace, 06-20-2008, 01:29 PM
I remember a few years ago Burst increased prices to improve the network. But now their prices are so low I wonder if they really can make enough money to support their infrastructure.

Posted by HostJedi, 06-20-2008, 02:14 PM
<< I remember a few years ago Burst increased prices to improve the network. But now their prices are so low I wonder if they really can make enough money to support their infrastructure. >> Considering the fact that we are installing/upgrading our older routers to new Cisco 6500 series gear in the upcoming weeks, and that we just overhauled/upgraded our whole Philadelphia POP for added redundancy, as well as added redundancy to Philadelphia with XO in our Scranton facility directly---I think the answer to that would be YES. After being in business for 17 years, I would think we know how to stay profitable, functional, and operating. . .

anyone having this weird issue that some users are not able to access your site? It's been happening intermittently and it's not just users from one country. It's been going on for some weeks now never really checked on anything until the exact problem happened to me 2 days ago. I cannot access my sites at home unless I use a proxy same goes for some of my forum users

perhaps a peering issue

It looks like a DNS issue. I could tracert your domain from one location but from another location your domain is not resolving. However tracert to your IP is completed with no error from both locations.

Keep good records of your cancellation. They'll charge your account and you'll end up spending a month fighting thru your bank for the money back. They are idiots.

It's hard to say, I tried to make tracert to NS1.0NS.ORG and NS2.0NS.ORG from diffrent locations with no success. In case the problem is not solved yet, maybe you should focus on them.
