Greetings, I'm wanting to know useful info about dedicated servers for resellers. for example: 1.) if the server crashes or breaks, who pays to get it back up and running? 2.) do they come with software to set up your accounts? are they free? 3.) what about programs like phpmyadmin, php4, perl , chilisoft and others..do most servers come with those installed or is taht up to the buyer? 4) anyother info i could use would really be helpful. Thanks

Well all of questions you asked depends on the host you are getting your server from. >>"1.) if the server crashes or breaks, who pays to get it back up and running?" If you order a server from a host and they are renting it to you month to month or whatever, they fix the (Hardware) parts and get it running again, unless you do foolish things as root (software), then they will probably charge you to fix what you broke... There are also two different types of dedicated packages... A. Managed server; where if you want the host to do most of the administration on the server. B. Truly Dedicated; meaning the host installs everything you need and leaves all administration up to you, support is generally an extra charge. >>"2.) do they come with software to set up your accounts? are they free?" Every host is different, usually they say what software is included with the server, If not you can usually ask them... >> "are they free?" Again, it depends upon what the host is offering, sometimes its included, otherwise there is either a one time setup fee and/or a monthly fee... >> "3.) what about programs like phpmyadmin, php4, perl , chilisoft and others..do most servers come with those installed or is taht up to the buyer?" All packages are different from host to host, if it isnt installed they can often install what you want for a one time fee. The best thing to do is to talk to the host and ask all the above questions, if they arent answered on the sales page... hope that helped...
