Ok the problem is I added an invalid entry to my hosts.deny file. Now nobody can connect to SSH My question: How can I still execute root commands on the server without SSH access ? I have CPanel/WHM installed and have the valid root password.

1. You can temporarly install the Webmin control panel. 2. Login to your Webmin control panel as root. http://your_domain_name:10000 - username: root pass: your_system_root_password. 3. Under the "Others" menu located on the left site, select "File Manager" 4. Navigate and edit your "hosts.deny" file 5. Delete the invalid entry and safe the changes. 6. Remove/uninstall the Webmin control panel. You should be able to login via SSH now.

You may be able to use ftp to connect. Or sftp perhaps. However, the most likely fix is going to be using the console to remove the line from hosts.deny (get the datacentre to rename it). When making changes like that, a simple test method is to make the change, and try to start another connection. If the new attempt fails, you fix it with the connection you already have.
