cant ping vlan encapsulted wit 802.1q, pls help!!!

Description: ** PPL TTML Connectivity ** Internet address is 10.10.10.1/30 MTU 1500 bytes, BW 100000 Kbit, DLY 100 usec, reliability 255/255, txload 5/255, rxload 8/255 Encapsulation 802.1Q Virtual LAN, Vlan ID 8. ARP type: ARPA, ARP Timeout 04:00:00 this is the sh int of that interface i need to ping the ip .1 and .2 but i am unable to do so, please help me

Post the configs of both sides of the connection, and what OS they are, and how you have devices plugged in.

check the max MTU size of the switch have seen that in some cases the encapsulated traffic packet size is larger than the allowed window and won't pass

Hi, Are both the switch and the host configured to use 802.1q as by default some Cisco switches do not auto negotiate and use ISL. What OS is the host running and have you configured support for 802.1q?
