An update:

I got that email four hours ago and it's still down. Hopefully they'll be able to resolve the issue! Though they've done a good job on keeping us informed, I'd just like to know what they are doing to resolve the issue now however. - Hopefully I'll get a reply from them with the support email I sent in, but I'm sure they have their hands full at the moment! My site has come back up as of 1:00 am PDT 6/1/08. The corruption must be worse than they thought. I have a mission critical site whose database I put up on another server for the time being, to help prevent problems while I leave on vacation (damn it all that this had to happen the night before I leave).

Yeah... they said they had to restore my old database (Which was only 1 day old) however I've lost quite a few new threads and posts. I'm a bit disappointed but hey, that's life...

They aren't even responding to me. Wonder why.

I'm sure they have their hands full, but they just sent me a reply.. so you might want to check your email now.

It appears they had a second issue later this morning:-( My forum is still down. I'm glad it happened overnight and on a weekend, the least busy times for our forum. This is the first issue of any kind I've had since this one- http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?t=668963 I don't mind downtime nearly as much as I mind losing data. Anyone know a good way to do off-site MySQL database backups?

Yeah I also run a forum and would also like to know this. But dang the data got corrupted again....

I have a headache and my forum has been down most of today. Though I guess this isn't as worse as The Planet being fully down.

Ahh still down. *Bangs head on table*

Great it's resolved. Finally!! Yay! ------ On a side note -- Hope people get their problems resolved at 'ThePlanet', I kinda know how it feels!

It appears I lost about 1 day of posts from Saturday. I will certainly be looking into off-site backups. Having a second backup provider and maybe something that does backups every 6-12 hours would be handy.

Yeah I lost about a day of posts, but I'll just suck it up and live with it. I'm also looking into such solutions so if you have anything please contact me!

Oh great, now the whole cluster is down (So I think) As I can't access my website nor any other website which I know is hosted by them. *Bangs head on table again* Heh you'd think this would be something related to The Planet, what's the chance of all this happening on the same day!!

I believe it's backup! Could someone check: Vlexo.com? I've checked it via proxy and dnstools but I'd like to get some confirmation from someone else. -- Eek though, I've recieved no email from iMountain explaining the situation of this 3rd incident. This is just terrible and this is first day I've literally been with them.

Vlexo.com is loading for me.

Thanks, I kind of gathered that when my users came on the forums and started posting! Hehe! But thanks, I appreciate it. Now to get a reply from iMountain!

As I understand they operate a big mysql cluster, so in cases like this the data need time to restore/fix etc.... They should have just 1 machine for each mysql server as the other H-Sphere hosts. Hopefully, no harm here, still developing a site. But the latest 2 downtime issues would be annoying..
