1 out of 2 DNS servers is down

There are few clients complaining site inaccessible but it could be accessible from other location. Does this mean that the client's is resolving to the down DNS server? Any fix on this to force the client to resolve to the main DNS server?

Do you have control over both DNS servers and are you positive one is down? Also, as long as both DNS servers have the same records there is no reason for websites to be inaccessible because one DNS server is down.

Positive one is down. I can access the primary but not the secondary. Primary is holding the same records as secondary. I believe my client is using a DNS server (ISP) that queried the secondary DNS and i am using a DNS server that queried the primary DNS server. Please correct me if I'm wrong. nslookup domain.com ns1.myhost.com = is OK nslookup domain.com ns2.myhost.com = Not reachable nslookup domain.com ns1.ISP.com = Not OK nslookup domain.com ns1.otherISP.com = OK

The NS2 just came up and the result is as below now:- nslookup domain.com ns1.myhost.com = is OK nslookup domain.com ns2.myhost.com = is OK nslookup domain.com ns1.ISP.com = is OK nslookup domain.com ns1.otherISP.com = is OK
