Bluehost box329 down for 28 hours+

Posted by CrazyPenguin, 03-09-2008, 02:48 AM
I care to show another side of the over polished character of Bluehost which is never presented in the many candy coated reviews you see on the internet. It is never acceptable for any web hosting company to have a server down for more than 12 hours. To have a server down for more than such is despicable. Bluehost server box329 was down from 28 to 56 hours depending on the individual account. Read Bluehost Unreliable! And please read the comment section for the latest update. And read Bluehost box329 where are you? And yet more Still More about Box329 and the 28hr outage Also read Bluehost Blues....

Bluehost's response to box329 being down for 28+ hours. According to the customer service rep I talked to, a) they are done restoring data; I can't expect any more data to be restored. b) They don't actually make backups; the promise of "Secure and reliable backups" refers to your ability to use the backup tool in the control panel c) there will be no rebate or apology compensation d) don't like it, you're free to leave

I'm sorry guys, I hate host-bashing, but I just found this TOO FUNNY I've never seen a more ridiculous error message in my life.

Bluehost box329 dead again. Box329 unreliable down time estimated at close to a 100 hours? Abssorb from deja vu says: Mine’s down again. Been down 3 hours. Last edited by CrazyPenguin; 03-10-2008 at 01:34 AM. Reason: typo

Bluehost is definitely not noted for their brilliance. Bluehost has earned every aspect of what I have written in my blog pertaining to them. My intent is not to bash Bluehost but to give others a perspective of my experiences I have had with them. BTW: You are one of the very few whom have seen the same humor I noticed when writing the article which mentions the "painful .php script."

One of my sites is still down. (Yep, the 3hr one above - now 12hrs and rising). They screwed up the DNS and it's currently re-propagating. I passed on all the "advice" to my end client about the 28hr outage, and the promises that this is a one-off extraordinary event. And pop - the very next week - another 24hr outage because of a DNS ****-up. My credibility is down the tubes.

Dealing with Bluehost is like watching a horror film that has no ending. The madness just keeps going and going and going........ I had an ordeal with Bluehost concerning an email problem. After they tinkered with the email on one of my accounts for 2/3rds of a month, I finally gave up on them and found another solution to my problem.

I have felt this pain first hand, and lost customers as a result. If I could say though CrazyPenguin - people are going to take your warnings a lot more seriously if you post less about it.
