Posted by Looie, 01-08-2008, 03:01 PM
I installed lighttpd with apt-get, then php5-cgi with apt-get, following this guide but I can't find the bit it says here Is there an easier way? Thanks.

Locate the lighttpd.conf file and add those entries if not present in that file. It provides lighty, the path to the fast-cgi tmp socket and the php binary path. Make sure /usr/bin/php4-cgi exists. Usually path to lighttpd conf file is /etc/lighttpd.conf.

FYI, I installed lighttpd from source with no prefix, and it's looking for the configuration file at /etc/lighttpd/lighttpd.conf

You need to add the lines to end of /etc/lighttpd/lighttpd.conf Also replace "/usr/bin/php4-cgi" with actual path of php insalled on the server. Mostly you need to install PHP as this need to be compiled with fcgi. You can find more details at http://trac.lighttpd.net/trac/wiki/T...LighttpdAndPHP
