config one download server

i have one server just for one site
Processor #1 Vendor: GenuineIntel
Processor #1 Name: Intel(R) Pentium(R) D CPU 2.66GHz
Processor #1 speed: 2660.519 MHz
Processor #1 cache size: 1024 KB
Processor #2 Vendor: GenuineIntel
Processor #2 Name: Intel(R) Pentium(R) D CPU 2.66GHz
Processor #2 speed: 2660.519 MHz
Processor #2 cache size: 1024 KB
how may i config it,that could use for one download server?
because my server going to down any time
memory is 2 gig

I don't think lighttpd will work with cpanel as config is completely different. Virtual host entry is like
$HTTP["host"] == "domain-name.com" {
server.document-root = "/path/to/folder/"
}

What error you get when apache is crashing ? Is there anything in error log file ?
