config one download server

Hello i have one server just for one site Processor #1 Vendor: GenuineIntel Processor #1 Name: Intel(R) Pentium(R) D CPU 2.66GHz Processor #1 speed: 2660.519 MHz Processor #1 cache size: 1024 KB Processor #2 Vendor: GenuineIntel Processor #2 Name: Intel(R) Pentium(R) D CPU 2.66GHz Processor #2 speed: 2660.519 MHz Processor #2 cache size: 1024 KB how may i config it,that could use for one download server? because my server going to down any time memory is 2 gig Thanks

Use lighttpd as web server if you only use it for file download server.

Lighttpd is compatible with cPanel if I'm not mistaken.

Why you need cpanel if you are using the server for download only I don't think lighttpd will work with cpanel as config is completely different. Virtual host entry is like $HTTP["host"] == "domain-name.com" { server.document-root = "/path/to/folder/" }

because i later i want create new sites :-) for customer but maybe all customer was just 20 sites do you have best away for optimize? Thanks

Even a cpanel configured web server can probably max out a gigabit pipe if it's just being used for fileserving.

If you need, you can install lighttpd to one IP and configure Apache to use rest of the IP. What error you get when apache is crashing ? Is there anything in error log file ?
