How much to get for a contract?

I'm a ASP.NET C# with 4 years of experience. I also programmed with PHP for 3 years. What is the typical rate for programmers for a contract of 2 months?

It really depends on how experienced you are and what the job is you are doing. If you don't have any professional programming experience you are looking at a lower number then someone with professional experience.

contract rates have gone down lately, so it's hard to be sure, but if i was on say a PHP contract, with mysql databases and fixing existing bugs etc, i'd be looking at the £20-25/hour rate. try looking on some job websites for similar jobs and see what rates they offer too

I usually look at my needs in terms of how much I need to make per month. Divide that number by 160 and you get your target hourly rate. Adjust it up or down depending on how you read the clients budget. Variables such as work load also play into your hourly rate. As you get busier you can quote higher. Hope this helps

Thank you. This will help me determining my rate.
