OpenVPN stopped working - was running fine for months
| Posted by o-dog, 11-16-2007, 03:02 PM | | Hi, i havent touched the config on my vps box for months and it has been running OpenVPN without any problems.
All of a sudden it is complaining it cant find /dev/net/tun
Nov 15 06:45:18 gizmo openvpn[23616]: Note: Cannot open TUN/TAP dev /dev/net/tun: No such device (errno=19)

ls -l /dev/net/tun
crwxrwxrwx 1 root root 10, 200 Jul 4 21:55 /dev/net/tun
any reason why it would stop working? i am on a VPS i have asked if the host machine parameters have been changed but in the meantime anything else i can check?

| Posted by tanfwc, 11-16-2007, 06:00 PM | | also ask your provider to enable tun on boot because if you reboot your vps, the tun settings will fallback to disabled mode again.
