Tool to test web site capacity levels?
| Posted by RumpleTumbler, 11-16-2007, 10:37 AM | | I'm trying to find a tool that will thrash a site to the break point and report where that is. This is for testing sites before they go online so that they don't go online and then drop offline because they can't handle the load. Any ideas?

| Posted by creaws, 11-16-2007, 11:14 AM | | When we need to do some tests like that, we use a set of perl scripts customized for the specific site that makes a lot of distributed request to web application.
A custom test is the best choice, because you can make request that involves database access too, for example, an automated tool to do request to the web server only will test web server capabilities not involving database, this is the an incomplete test.
Also I recommend a security testing before applications go online.
