DNS Question - Can I make a single domain resolve to exchange server and web server?

Hello Web Gurus, I just purchased a dedicated server that is running the lastest version of CentOS with WHM and I have a question about DNS. I am new to web hosting, this forum and dns so bear with me. I have a domain that I would like to host on my server. Setting this up in WHM is pretty straight forward however I have a problem that I can't solve with WHM or possibly not at all. The domain I would like to use is currently sitting on a windows box and being used for an exchange server. Is it possible to configure DNS on my dedicated server so that it points to the exchange server and the apache web server so that the single domain can be used for both? If this is not possible what other options do I have? Best Regards David

Yes. You need to create an MX record in WHM that directs mail for your domain to your exchange server IP address. Just do a search in google for "configure mx record cpanel". You should have plenty of hits that come up that will show you exactly how to do this.

Thanks for the quick reply. That makes sense. I currently have 6 domains hosted on this server, does this mean that only this one domain will use the exchange server? I do not want to have any of the other domains using exchange, only this one.

Only the domain that you configure the MX record to point to the Exchange server will have it's mail traffic sent there. All other traffic will be sent to where their MX records point. If that is the WHM server, then traffic will stay there, if that is some other server, mail traffic will follow to wherever the MX record points it to.
