So I have this domain on there, as well as a small wordpress blog. In total I'm get a very miniscule trickle of visitors to these websites (as they are not officially launched), around 100 visits per day, many of which are only 1 pageview visits.
My problem is, my server is already idling over its memory limit of 256mb. This is causing major slowdowns, and processes like cpanel are constantly be killed and I can't login.
Does anyone have any idea what is causing my high memory usage? I just can't image that the visitors I am getting are doing much, as for the majority of the day I have absolutely no one viewing my domains, yet my memory usage is still over the limit. Wiredtree support says its up to me to optimize my msql/php scripts etc for low mem usage, but I don't see how this will help when there is no one using them in the first place.
Also I am a total newb, so I am sorry in advance.

| Posted by Cristi4n, 08-31-2007, 05:43 AM | | If mysql is using some memory for example, there is no need for someone to access your site, mysql will keep that usage so you will have for example 200 MB used by mysql and 56 remaining for other processes. We need to see some output of your current usage if you have shell access.

| Posted by foobic, 08-31-2007, 06:02 AM | | 256MB is nothing unusual for CPanel - you may need to tweak things to get the usage down from there. Check your settings for Apache, mysql and spamassassin against the suggestions in this thread.

| Posted by david510, 08-31-2007, 07:13 AM | | If nothing was changed on wordpress, the issue would be that there will be limitations to the resource usage for the VPS. Have a check with your provider regarding this.
