Can't ping to the server but can log in ssh

I have a problem with my server, that i can't not ping But i can log in the ssh. i just installed apf, i check conf.apf to made sure there are port 80, but it still can't ping. Anyidea? thanks

Check your /etc/resolv.conf file , ask your datacenter for the resolvers IP's and see if they match. Also, try to stop apf and see if you can ping after that.

i stopped apf , and checked the resolv.conf, its contain is the same with other box which currently working fine. Any idea? thanks

Try and ping an IP not an hostname, see if that works. If it works, you have a problem with the resolv.conf, check for an extra dot or something, maybe ask the datacenter to check that, the error you see means: The remote host's name cannot be resolved by name service into an IP address!

ping 216.109.122.135 connect: Network is unreachable No idea how this happen. I checked resolv.conf manytime but don't see anything wrong.

When you run ifconfig, do you see a eth0 and a eth1?

the problem was gateway. I left it blank that why it did not work.
