Seems where they have their server (Alabanza) is also down. Unsure of what it will be.

The data center is being migrated this weekend as previously announced. We expect full service to be restored later this afternoon. See www.5dollarbackup.com for further info and updates on the data center move. Thank you,

Aloha! This looks like another Alabanza Reseller. Alabanza which was recently purchased by NaviSite are currently DOWN and have been for the last 48+ hours. As a reseller of one of their companies, I know a well known hosting provider is currently offering a very good deal to Alabanza Resellers if you are effected by this outage, this could be a good way of finding a RELIABLE network provider. PM me for details if you interested, I know at LEAST 50+ customers of various web hosting companies which are jumping ship!!!!!!

Aloha, again your posts are inaccurate.... at the time of your post you claim the downtime was over 48 hours... when in FACT it didnt start the morning of Saturday November 3, which would be about 30 something hours. granted still a long time, but not the 48+ you claim. Also in nother post you claim you are a reseller and that you are loosing 120 clients, and in this thread you say you know of 50+ people jumping ship and you want people to PM you to get details. This provider IS a reliable provider, this is an unfortunate event. And NONE of the direct alabanza clients I spoke to throughout the day who have thousands and thousands of clients, claim they lost that many that you speak of. please get your facts striaght before speaking.

I'm not defending Aloha, but I'm in a similar situation, receiving hosting from OWH/Alabanza. All of my sites have been down continuously since before 5am EST Saturday, which is now approaching 50+ hours. I appreciate your defense of 5dollarhosting. IMO, OWH is the best I've ever worked with, but at some point, it doesn't matter. If they are receiving services from an incompetent provider, we cannot afford to stay with them. Jumping ship in the middle of a crisis is a terrible strategy, so we're forced to ride it out, but in the end we'll probably leave the best tech support we've ever had. I've lost 3 clients already, and the work week has not yet started. I may be effectively out of business by the end of the day. ~OC~

OC404: I completely understand your feelings. I have heard nothing but good things about OWH. There is a good chance if they are like most that this situation has caused them to take a hard look at the provider relationship and may change. We certainly are doing so. If they have treated you well, you might consider following them if they decide to make a change. This morning things are coming back to life, we're at about 40-45% restored here. Hang in there.

Craig - Thanks for taking the time to reply. I suspect you're kinda busy right now. It's good to see the real players jumping in here. OWH has been keeping us updated. Unfortunately, the updates always seem to say something like "We're almost there, just a few more hours..." {{ severe, semi-sarcastic paraphrasing }} We are conveying these updates to our clients, but we're beginning to feel like complete idiots. It would almost be reassuring, in an odd sort of way, if somebody just stood up and said "we don't have a %$#&^# clue what's going on." At least, we could relate. ~OC~
