I guess that in english this means that Saidcom is down since almost a day. He is a reseller and 100 of his clients are furious. Unfortunatly he found no informations whatsoever about what is going on !

That was my thoughts aswell. Maybe you should switch providers. 24 hours in the dark is unacceptable.

Moved to outages.

As many know, Level3 cut the Saidcom off due to continuous violations of their AUP by some resellers. Servers in the data center have been down since February 23rd. They are now saying that it will be March 11th before they get back online. 2 1/2 weeks is totally unacceptable, and with the misinformation they keep passing on to their resellers I would not be surprised at all if that date changes again. I am having a hard time understanding how they can be so careless with their service while having no emergency plan in place. I urge all web hosting companies not to do business with Saidcom in the future. I also urge end users to do some homework on their webhosts, at least find out if they have more than 1 data line provider at the data center their servers are in. Thanks for letting me vent a little... I needed it. Pray for those web hosts who trusted Saidcom with their customers, they are in a world of hurt right now.

Wow...2 1/2 weeks? That is painful.

Very painful. The last 2 years of SEO going down the drain is killing me more than anything.

Link popularity and all are still there... Once you get the site back online, the wound should heal in a relatively short time. The work is not "down the drain". Keep your hopes high, and do whatever necessary to get your sites back online sooner rather than later. Good luck!

Yeah, it's quite a miserable thing being inaccessible for 2 1/2 weeks.

Sorry to hear about your situation, however as Dan mentioned it wont harm your SEO that such, perhaps that should be something you should least worry about. Last edited by bear; 03-08-2007 at 11:36 AM.

Well, I've got out of it _reasonably_ painlessly. Our documentation site is offline, but I had, fortunately, moved www.freepbx.org to 1800hosting.com on the 4th of Feb, just 20 days before they went offline. Phew. --Rob

I've moved Data centers aswell! I was told they should be back online by end of last week. I am now told it'll be this week........ but no signs yet of it coming back. Now have saidcom gone bust? thats the question Regards Craig

Saidcom is now saying it will be at least 60 days before the servers are online. They are not cooperating with anybody in terms of retrieving data. I urge all resellers (direct resellers of Saidcom) to file a complaint with the BBB in Saidcom's district. http://www.mybbb.org/commoncomplaint.html Said, inc 15 N 7th St Perkasie, PA 18944 (215) 257-3110

They are still there, back up and never did they refuse anyone to get their data. If you bought through galaxy Solutions maybe since that reseller owed them thousands of dollars and refused to pay.

That is actually a complete lie. After 3 months of downtime they came back online and sent us a bill. Their bill actually included charges for renewals the day the service went down. We went over this bill with our attorney and they actually owed us money. We did not factor in for expenses incurred because of their incompetence (which resulted in going down withoout notice). We deducted incorrect items, items billed twice and items where the service was not provided (due to their 3 month disappearance from the web). After all of this our attorney agreed that they owed us money. We would have paid any money that we were legally obligated to, but there was none. Saidcom (saidhost) is unprofessional, and unethical. As of when they went down we had paid every bill they had sent us. This bill was never mentioned until I told Ron we did not plan to carry his servers when he came back up. As far as backups and other unsatisfied clients I can link you to several forum posts and reviews that were not posted by us. I also know that because of SaidHost (Saidcom) incompetence at least 3 other companies went out of business. I can list several substandard things Saidhost still does. They are only classified as a datacenter in the loosest sense of the word. Since they went down I found out a great deal about them. If you looked at power redundancy, security and connections they would fail all classifications.

The one thing I learned from this is to back up your server regularly. It is easy to point the finger at the datacenter or reseller, but the bottom line is that us end users are responsible for backing up our data.
