Seems to be bad again right now. I see a lot of timeouts and packet loss. Fortunately I am not sleeping right now cause if I was I'd be waking up in about 5 minutes due to my monitoring system.

38% packet loss for me.

Posted by glace, 09-22-2006, 01:29 PM |
Right now the problem does only affect the two most important servers of mine (and I have 100% packet loss there). The others that are backup servers or empty are not affected

We are not down.
Currently some kind of attack bypassing our protection system...should be resolved very shortly---networking dept working on it as I type this..
Alot of ICMP is blocked currently, so ping/traceroute may not work properly.

40% of my servers are down completely. No Apache, no Mysql, not even SSH. 100% dead.

You wrote the same message in another thread more than 1 hour ago. It does not look like it is "very shortly".

Well...Yes, you are !

It is not just ping/traceroute. I cannot reach my server using any protocol (HTTP, SMTP, remote desktop).

Same here...and it`s been down for quite some time now.

Getting normal pings, and no packet loss now, so I'm thinking there's a slight chance that it may be rectified.

We are swapping out that defective Top Layer DDOS protection device which caused issues a few days ago...it will just be a few minutes.

Good...let's hope all goes well. I think I didn`t receive any email announcing maintenance. I also don`t understand why maintenance has to be done in the middle of the day each time.

Back up for me. Good to see the equipment being replaced.

Posted by Cirtex, 09-25-2006, 06:26 PM |
Yep I'm always happy when theres new equipment put into place, got me worried a bit there when I received down time alerts on my PDA though since wasnt aware of this
Thanks for the update Shawn.
Cheers

The response I got from tech support back when I was hosting most of my stuff at Burst was that over 50% of their clientbase was not based in america, so they were actually affecting the least # of customers doing it during US daytime...
