my both of two servers are down. whats happening?

Posted by TonyB, 05-05-2006, 12:40 PM
Not down from where I am in Canada and it appears a few of my UK clients are seeing this problem. It seems to be a routing issue

Posted by Scotty_B, 05-05-2006, 12:43 PM
Another ISP, another traceroute, seems to be taking a different route but still failing Tracing route to redandwhitekop.com [65.98.57.58] over a maximum of 30 hops: 1 <1 ms <1 ms <1 ms 192.168.0.1 2 19 ms 17 ms 21 ms 82.153.1.4 3 20 ms 17 ms 17 ms 82.153.2.49 4 15 ms 17 ms 18 ms ge-1-1.metro2-londencyh00.London1.Level3.net [21 2.187.151.157] 5 18 ms 18 ms 17 ms so-1-3-0.gar1.London1.Level3.net [212.113.3.25] 6 15 ms 18 ms 18 ms ge-1-1.core2.London1.Level3.net [4.68.116.68] 7 17 ms 20 ms 15 ms bcr1-so-4-0-0.Londonlnx.savvis.net [206.24.169.2 9] 8 23 ms * 21 ms bcs2-so-1-1-0.Londonlnx.savvis.net [204.70.193.1 22] 9 23 ms 18 ms 17 ms bcs1-as0-0.Londonlnx.savvis.net [204.70.193.201] 10 89 ms 90 ms 94 ms bcs2-so-0-0-0.NewYork.savvis.net [204.70.192.121 ] 11 88 ms 89 ms 89 ms aer1-ge-2-2.newyork.savvis.net [204.70.193.42] 12 89 ms 90 ms 90 ms aer1-ge-2-1.newyork.savvis.net [204.70.193.34] 13 * * * Request timed out.

one of my servers is down (65.98.68.138).... :-( beachcomber site is down too

Posted by datums, 05-05-2006, 12:45 PM
Looks like some networking issues. They are on it. Servers are not actually down, just unreachable through some routes/networks.

Posted by alwatan, 05-05-2006, 12:49 PM
my server down also

Posted by simon_055, 05-05-2006, 12:54 PM
Looks like they are experiencing network problems.

Posted by r5x, 05-05-2006, 12:57 PM
There whole systems are down:

Posted by Russ Foster, 05-05-2006, 12:59 PM
For me its up but very very slow

Posted by RooconHosting, 05-05-2006, 01:01 PM
your servers prolly arent down, there are port and ip issues all over the place. all depends on your isp and thier backbone. The stuff Im seeing is very widespread from all over the world some people can access our sites and services but not all of them on all ports. strange stuff amiss, but ur servers are still running.

Posted by TonyB, 05-05-2006, 01:03 PM
This is very odd

Posted by Scotty_B, 05-05-2006, 01:07 PM
Just come back up.

Posted by The3bl, 05-05-2006, 01:09 PM
From their forums. Just a brief mention that it appears NLayer is having some trouble at the moment, causing some clients to not be able to reach the network. The network is up, however anyone coming in over NLayer will experience issues at this time. We are working with them at this time to resolve the matter, and will have it fixed as quickly as possible. More will be posted as it becomes available. Thank you,

Everything appears to be fine.

Posted by datums, 05-05-2006, 01:10 PM
Things are looking good now.

Posted by WireNine, 05-05-2006, 01:11 PM
Is it just me or does DN's network problems are occurring on a monthly basis now?

Posted by simon_055, 05-05-2006, 01:14 PM
They've just up now, but their network has been unreachable from 16.15 GMT till 17.04 GMT..

Posted by r5x, 05-05-2006, 01:16 PM
Backup Nice one.

Posted by David, 05-05-2006, 01:16 PM
I do believe it's weekly.

Posted by ValueVPS-Dave, 05-05-2006, 01:20 PM
I'm just waiting for the flood of support tickets... i've already had 2 days of interrmittant downtime, just reassured customers that all is fixed and then this happens....

Posted by PhMatt, 05-05-2006, 01:44 PM
Everything's back up, looks like it was a bug in one of NLayer's core routers causing some of our routes to drop. This caused certain customers to not be able to access the network. If anyone is still experiencing any issues at this time, please open up a support request so that we can further look into these matters for you. Thank you,

Whether its weekly or monthly, it's not good.

Posted by layer0, 05-06-2006, 07:20 AM
I made a similar statement to the ^ in another thread about DNow's outage and received absolutely nothing but denial...good to see someone else noticing this as well.

Posted by WireNine, 05-06-2006, 12:23 PM
There seems to be some network issue again at DNow. This is truly ridiculous. Forget weekly or monthly, more like daily now.

Posted by ValueVPS-Dave, 05-06-2006, 01:36 PM
my server is ok :-)

Posted by WireNine, 05-08-2006, 03:41 PM
Again there seems to be an issue with the network. Looks like we might have to move our servers asap!

Posted by PhMatt, 05-08-2006, 03:48 PM
There was a DDOS against a specific rack, and only effected customers on that rack. The attack has been stopped at this time but please open a support request to let us know if you are still experiencing any problems. Thank you,

Dedicatednow is down in Turkey! We have sent several mails but no response from dedicatednow. They are down in the whole country for 10+ hours

Posted by Patrick, 05-11-2006, 05:29 AM
Are you sure it's not just your server?

Posted by Serhat, 05-11-2006, 05:33 AM
Yes I am sure. I can't reach dedicatednow's web site either. I have friends that have servers from dedicatednow, they all have the same problem. We got lots of mails from our customers and they are complaining about this issue.

Posted by Patrick, 05-11-2006, 05:34 AM
Since DedicatedNOW is in New Jersey... and you're in Turkey, and your friends are in Turkey (I assume) wouldn't it seem logical that the problem is lying somewhere in Turkey and not with DedicatedNOW?

Posted by Serhat, 05-11-2006, 05:35 AM
I can only connect to servers in pegasus datacenter through proxy.

Posted by Patrick, 05-11-2006, 05:38 AM
If you can connect to the servers through a proxy, then obviously the problem is with your ISP or another transit provider in Turkey (or near Turkey anyway).

Posted by Serhat, 05-11-2006, 05:44 AM
I don't think it's because of my ISP. We can connect to all other datacenters in the world. This happens only with pegasus. So I think pegasus is the one who needs to fix this. It seems to be related with nlayer. Dedicatednow support confirmed that it was a issue with nlayer. They have contacted nlayer about the issue and it is now resolved. But there was almost 20 hours of downtime for Turkish customers.
