My server is responding just fine...I don't see any network issues. What's up?

Jordan, It was a localized DDoS issue (I never heard back as to whether or not it was the OP being targeted) but it was contained. Technical Support had been working on the issue since before the ticket came in and the ticket was responded to and forwarded to Technical Support in under 30 minutes.

<< snip >> I put that info here so that people would know how long ago the outage started. Jeff, thank you for your help and outstanding support, I checked our logs and it was not my server undergoing the attack so it must have been someone else on my segment. luke69: i only say this because 10 minutes not long time to start complainting. an emergency ticket doesnt say that they will answer in 10min but very much faster than normal tickets. 10 minutes outages is nothing to scream out about, thats something that mitgh happend. if you havent got any respond in 3-40 min on an emergencyticket you can talk about it but not 10 min

I posted this here because I wanted to share it with the community. One thing that I always look for when selecting a new data center is their reputation on this board. As you can see I added a comment thanking Jeff for his quick turnaround on this. Now, the next person researching blacklotus may use the info in this thread to judge the company's support abilities. Frankly, your original comment sounded snarky and was of no value. I now realise from your follow up posts that english is not your primary language and that your original response may not have been as rude as I suspected.

I have heard good things about www.blacklotus.net so knowing this I have to agree that 10min to get response is not bad at all. In fact that is pretty great, now that also does not mean they can fix your problem in 10min. For example if you decide to rm -f / then I am sure it would take a bit longer to get you back in action.

blacklotus is under another DDOS attack, this is the third one in 5 days. Yes, its nice that they are able to answer support tickets very quickly and generally get things under control within 30 minutes, but I have never had this many DDOS problems in 5 years of hosting. My site on the blacklotus server was previously runing on a theplanet server for 2 years without having been affected by one DDOS attack. I have verified in my log files that it is not my server getting DDOS'd. I can only conclude it is the blacklotus network.

luke69, Your server is the only one having this issue, I have stated my theory regarding your problem and how to correct it in my update to your ticket. Each time you open a ticket with us your traffic has quickly jumped by around 50 Mbps, died, and then come back at normal traffic levels. Black Lotus as a whole has been at 100.00% uptime since November 2005.

If I posted in this section every time a single dedicated server went down (on providers' network) it would be fairly often (I monitor close to 50 servers on 10 networks) I believe the purpose is to alert when providers have network outages or "major failures", not a single clients' dedicated server. I have had servers' with long periods of availablity & uptime (Server uptime 365+) BTW I do not have any servers on the blacklotus network at this time, but I am planning on getting one.
