Piwebhosting Down 2 Days Now.....Again!!!

Posted by Iziah, 12-17-2005, 05:00 PM
Looks like Piwebhosting is having another major problem as my sites have been down for over 2 days now and of course they haven't answered any of my support tickets so I don't know what is going on. I should have learnt my lesson after their big outage in November but I thought I would stay faithful to them, dumb decision that was. They even have the nerve to post an offer in the shared hosting section only 2 days ago, wouldnt touch that offer with a barge pole. Oh well , guess I'm looking for another host!! Zeke

.... I think it's time to look for a new provider if you can.

I second Pat's notion! If it's down for 2 days and they didn't answer your tickets, then something is wrong. Time to find another host!

I hope you keep regular backups of your website. Find a new host and move on!

Hi Zeke, I'll reiterate the general consensus about moving on. Your host should let you know of any issues long before you have to submit a ticket about downtime to try to find out the issue. They should be emailing you to let you know what the problem is. Best of luck in your search for a new host and here's hoping you have backups available for a move.

Given the situation, that's probably the right decision. Maybe we know a domain that you host with them? It would help validate your review.

I'd rather not post one of my domains until the sites are back up so I can have them transferred elsewhere, just in case the host frowns on this post (as they frequent this forum) and decides not to put my sites back up. Anybody have any recommendations (reseller hosting around $10.00 for my own domains)? Thanks Zeke

If that is the case, you can submit the domain to the WHT helpdesk or PM it to a moderator, and it will be kept confidential.

To be honest I'm not too sure how to get a hold of a moderator, hopefully one will view this thread and then I can pm them. I'm actually surprised no one else has posted their displeasure with Piwebhosting, maybe I was the only one silly enough to go them another chance.

Sorry to hear about your situation. I would recommend having a look at the WHT offers section findmyhosting.com etc. Whatever you choose, make sure you do your homework well and take your time finding good host, you probably don't want to end up in the situation as you are already already in.

Dan (ldcdc) is a moderator I wouldn't really worry about that. From my past dealings with Monique, she's a really really nice girl who doesn't think just about profit. I find it strange even that she is ignoring emails and tickets...

Please use this link to send your domain to the moderators team: http://www.webhostingtalk.com/report.php?p=3552974 Thank you for your cooperation!

This is the second major downtime for Piwebhosting over the last few months. Back then, they were one of the hosts I was considering.

Domains confirmed.

Two days down? I would change provider after having between two and four hours with no response at all... I hope you have backups.

Posted by Iziah, 12-20-2005, 06:02 AM
Any ideas as to what I can do, my sites are still down and I still have not heard anything from Monique, in the past I'd agree she really has been great to deal with which is why I stayed with them for so long but I need to get these sites back up asap. Is there any way I can find out what is going on?

btw ... can anybody suggest how can i contact Moni ? everything is nice with my sites hosted on piweb, but i cann't contact Moni 3-4 days(send pm, email, but no response) (need to purchase dedicated ip)

seem it's serious !!! as i wrote yesterday: "everything is nice with my sites hosted on piweb," checking now .. mysql is down. no DB connect and 0 response from Moni. is it "The End" of Piwebhosting?

Posted by David, 01-27-2006, 10:18 PM
This is why I push the whole 'public whois' information. I'd be able to provide you with the contact details if it weren't registered via a proxy: http://whois.sc/Piwebhosting.com Good luck with your next host. Be sure to find one that has whois details readily available to ensure this doesn't occur the next time around!

WTF is going on! All sites with mysql hosted on piweb are DOWN AGAIN!!!! This is what you get when you click on customer support on piwebhosting.com: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Warning: mysql_connect(): Too many connections in /home/piwebhos/public_html/supportcenter/admin/database/db_core.php on line 154 MySQL Error: () Warning: mysql_connect(): Too many connections in /home/piwebhos/public_html/supportcenter/admin/database/db_core.php on line 154 MySQL Error: () Settings table not built, please goto Settings > General and click Update ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- At least have the sense to host the website on another server or a host if in the even of downtime, your own website and the ability to answer customer support issues goes down with it!!!!??????????????/

boomweb, Or just not have any downtime in the first place. Webhosts who like to play hide-and-seek -- not a combination you want to meet often. Do your research next time around.

i guess, that a "Forceful Server Reboot" will fix this problems. but unfortunately, there isn't any person from this company online, who can do it :-( MONI !!! .. where are you ?

Posted by IsaacTs, 01-28-2006, 12:20 AM
Ouch, I hope you've backed up your files. You have to do some digging again, hopefully it will be a nicer cup of tea.

Posted by 3-rx, 01-28-2006, 12:36 AM
backup of my files i have... it's not a problem. problem is my db backups. as one of my sites is updated 2-3 times in week, the last backup i have is 1 month old. and just now i cann't access to any db utility to do fresh backup :-(

Posted by 3-rx, 01-28-2006, 11:09 PM
Everythink is nice now... seems, that somebody from piwebhosting restart server. but as, they(staff) are still unavailable i'll talk my "cheers" here thank you

Posted by Dormouse, 01-28-2006, 11:27 PM
So it's time for a backup & to resolve to do them more regularly.

Posted by PremiumHost, 01-29-2006, 07:59 AM
MySQL is still running, but too many connections. All mysql requests will be refused.

ping piwebhosting Wrong IP address or incorrect hostname

Posted by sam_cogan, 02-06-2006, 07:40 PM

Posted by coight, 02-06-2006, 09:08 PM
