Rant: Ibm Serveraid 6.xx --> 7.xx Raid Card Flash

Don't do this upgrade unless you fancy having problems. We run a single IBM x342 for our own EuroVPS.com site and mail, it's a great machine with redundant power, drives, etc. We have had bad experiences with mismatched RAID drivers/firmwares in the past, and so we decided to update the RAID card in this box to the latest revision (7.12.xx). Well now the RAID card is completely gone from POST. In any event effect of this is that our own (only) website had to be moved to a shared server temporarily until this is resolved. (Replacing the RAID card, apparently the flash didn't go too well, ruined the card) Best of luck to those upgrading the flash on their ServeRAID's. I would never do it again after this. Igor ps - no customers were affected due to this, but we were affected as now we're looking at replacing a 500 euro RAID card due to a failed flash. Total waste of money.
