MyOneHome.com - hosted sites are down.

Posted by Gen-T, 09-25-2004, 08:46 PM
I have a reseller account with MyOneHome.com that I use to provide free hosting to some non-profit sites, but the sites are down, and have been for about 2 hours. I have contacted their support and waiting on a reply. Anybody else having issues?

Up from chicago, IL.

my reseller account is also down - their site is up though

Posted by Gen-T, 09-26-2004, 08:59 AM
14 hours now, my reseller account and sites are still down, and no reply from support.

Posted by Gen-T, 09-26-2004, 04:39 PM
As this approaches 24 hours down-time with no reply from support, I am getting frustrated. I realize it's the weekend, but I at least expect somebody to be around at some point.

This is horsecrap Time to find a new host (again)

Posted by Aussie Bob, 09-27-2004, 12:21 AM
24 hours of downtime, and no communication from the host, and you're now "getting frustrated"? Most folks would have been going off their tree, in your situation, after 24 hours downtime and no communication.

I sent an email to their emergency address this afternoon and got an autoresponse within the hour my sites are back up now, but still no response as to why

Posted by Gen-T, 09-27-2004, 01:09 AM
Bob, yeah I know. I guess I was cutting them some slack since it's the weekend, but enough of that. They should have at least replied with some type of information. This is just wrong. On a brighter note, the sites are finally back up now. However, (like Mudley) I have not received any explanation or reply from support. Just the auto-response acknowledging my reports. This has been very disappointing.

Let me know if you find a good host to switch to (for reseller account) What sucks is I was about to launch an online store this week...and of course, everything is on my myonehome server Anyone know how to transfer a mysql database?

Posted by mudley, 10-01-2004, 12:14 AM
i sent a pissy email and got a reply back their excuse was a power supply failure on the server I was located on

Posted by Gen-T, 10-01-2004, 10:16 PM
Something has changed with them. They used to reply quickly, and now we are lucky to get a reply at all. My last 3 support requests have gone unanswered. It really concerns me, and is not the service that I'm accustomed to getting. Hopefully this is just a bump in the road, and there won't be any more like this (with complete lack of reply).

Hey, maybe someone knows what's going on now? My sites are down for more that 24 hours (more like 36 already). They don't respond to e-mails, no one could be found on the ICQ, MSN, AIM... Is this something they do constantly? Should I start looking for another provider before my clients start deserting?

Posted by Zealus.com, 12-10-2004, 09:15 AM
Can't get to them for almost 2 days now. No response to e-mails, no response to ICQ/MSN/YAHOO/AIM. Are they still in business? I have a reseller Windows account with them, don't want my clients to suffer. If I won't be able to find out anything today, probably should think of moving to another provider.

Well there site is up.. http://www.myonehome.com/ Have you tried the number located here ? http://www.whois.sc/myonehome.com

Posted by Zealus.com, 12-10-2004, 03:56 PM
The answer was "I don't know who you are talking about"... I guess either the company is no more, or the phone number is fraud, or... I don't know what else... Do you think I can do a charge back? Will that get their attention?

Posted by ldcdc, 12-10-2004, 08:31 PM
I don't think that's the kind of attention they care about much. I mean... they might just pull the plug on you and for good reason I might add. Keep trying to contact them while looking for a back-up host. If you don't hear from them in X days, move.

Posted by Zealus.com, 12-11-2004, 02:27 AM
Am I correctly understanding that you're stating that they don't care about the customer enough to answer to at least one of the e-mails? Hm... nice...

Posted by Hondo, 12-11-2004, 04:56 AM
Well, my sites still work but I cannot add new DNS entries. Maybe he has problems with his DNS-Server? Support also not responding to me. I try to stay friendly Maybe its a good time now to ask him if he wants to sell myonehome.com?

Just a few minutes ago, I logged into my reseller account to find it empty. The sites that are hosted on it do not show up, and in fact, the account itself appears to no longer be a reseller account. Very strange. The CyberSafety site in my signature (which I provide free hosting, webmaster and publicity for them) is still up, however neither myself or the owner can log into the account or email. It's hosted thru my reseller account, but no longer appears or functions with either control panel login (neither my reseller account, or the individual account I set up for them). Again, very strange. I must admit that I am worried. I have just sent off an email to support, and will update when (or if) I get a reply.

Posted by Gen-T, 12-11-2004, 06:02 AM
UPDATE Now everything is normal and working again for us. I'm not sure what happened. The sites were not down. Just the account interface and control panel was weird on the last login. Well, good luck to you Zealus.com and hopefully your issue will be resolved soon.

Posted by Gen-T, 12-11-2004, 06:10 AM
UPDATE PART 2 Well, none of our email accounts are working, and we can't login to webmail. I've even tried resetting the passwords but no good. So we shall see what happens with support. Everything else is working properly at this time.

Posted by Zealus.com, 12-11-2004, 09:24 PM
Not such a good news for me. Nothing works at all... no response from customer support.

Posted by Gen-T, 12-13-2004, 08:10 AM
Still no email access here. Got an auto-reply to my support emails today. Since this has been the weekend, I'm hoping Monday morning means bright and early fixes for the problem. I'm really quite a patient person with my various providers, but I sure want to see some positive movement from MOH.

Posted by Zealus.com, 12-13-2004, 01:13 PM
Same here - yesterday at aprox. 11:45pm EST received the reply to my e-mails with ticket number. Hopefully my clients are as patient as I am...

Posted by Lev, 12-13-2004, 08:30 PM
I'm surprised you guys are still with them. I would say do a back up quickly, sounds like they are having some sort of problems (and you never know if they are company problems or server problems). I'd have moved on by now, the company might have switched hands.

Posted by Aussie Bob, 12-14-2004, 12:01 AM
Wow, all I can say is I think you are waaaaaaaaaaay too patient. Weekend or not, a host should keep things humming along 24x7x365, and any host who can't, shouldn't be hosting other people's sites at all.

Posted by coight, 12-14-2004, 06:40 AM
Yep, I agree

Posted by Hondo, 12-15-2004, 06:33 PM
I asked them today to refund my payment as they claim to have a 30-day money back guarantee.....my request got the usuall 'has been assigned to the tracking id blabalba' - response. Actually I do not care to much about that as I just signed up and nothing is running on my reseller account there anyway. If they (or better: he) wouldve just replied once in the last two weeks explaining what was wrong I wouldve stayed with them I guess. It would surprise me if they really click on the refund button of their paypal account. What do you think? (maybe paying with paypal is not a good idea when you do not know the hoster)

Posted by mudley, 12-15-2004, 07:49 PM
my sites are still up, but the other day i couldn't send any mail my webmail access no longer works and right now i can't log in to my control panel I'm now searching for a new reseller host i'm worried though, i have TWO online stores to move and i've never moved a mysql database

Posted by mudley, 12-29-2004, 01:52 PM
i got all but one of my sites moved, and they're down again been down for 3 days this time if they don't come back up and let me snag my zencart database i am going to F'ing kill someone :|

Our sites have been down since Christmas Eve. I suspect they are on a holiday. I have long suspected that this company is run by a sinle person. It is usually hard to get any respons by email. They have a online help desk where you can open tickets, but they don't ever seem to bother looking into those. Now the sites have been down for alomst a week. Best case: the owner is on a holiday and will fix the problem after that. Worst case: they are out of bussines. Any case: MyOneHome should be nooneshome it seems. I'll back up all the sites if I ever get the change and strt looking for a reliable host. Laurenz Edelman www refugee

MyOneHome.com up from Morocco !

Posted by laurenz, 12-31-2004, 09:57 PM
Their own site is up yes, I know that. But our sites are not hosted om the same server. They are down!

Posted by Zealus.com, 01-03-2005, 02:25 PM
Let's just call it quits. They just forgot to take their web site down when they went out of business.

Posted by laurenz, 01-03-2005, 08:49 PM
And how do you know the went out of business??

Posted by Gen-T, 01-04-2005, 03:45 AM
I'm sorry to report that MyOneHome.com has apparently dropped the ball on this one. My sites have been down for almost 2 weeks. Reports to support get no reply. The "emergency" email address is returned as "rejected", and the icing on the cake is the phone number listed in the whois records goes to a ice-cream parlor that never heard of them. With the exception of suffering from a death in their family (or other tragedy) there is no excuse for such treatment of their customers. After nearly a year with these folks, it's time to pull the plug. I want to thank http://www.GetMeHosted.com for being the first company to respond and offer a competitive hosting plan. My sincere thanks to all the other companies who offered their services. We have decided to go with GMH, and I can only recommend you look into their offerings yourself. Goodbye MyOneHome. You really let us down. Last edited by Gen-T; 01-04-2005 at 03:51 AM.

Im moving too... i just signed to HostNexus

Posted by Gen-T, 01-04-2005, 09:53 PM
I checked my PayPal account and found they just got more money from me today, because the cancellation of my subscription has not gone thru yet. I suggest everybody make sure that you have cancelled your MyOneHome subscription directly thru PayPal (not MyOneHome themselves). Apparently the billing system is the only thing that still works at MyOneHome.

Thats really sad. I hope you guys have better luck with your new hosts.

i have i`m at zoneserv now and they are good www.zoneserv.com

UPDATE: 1.7.05 Looks like the final plug has been pulled. The MyOneHome.com site is down, 404 page. This is significant because (after almost a year with them, despite their customers sites being down), I never once saw their own home/hosting site down. And no replies to any messages. No contact of any kind. So I've lost this month's payment which they already took from my account, not to mention the majority of last month that we all went without ANY service. The money bothers me, but not nearly as much as them not having the courtesy or professionalism to reply to us, or give us ANY clue or warning about what's been going on. Not a single reply, or any type of answers. No information. Just completely and totally ignoring us. That really frustrates me, and is totally unacceptable. Flakes! If you contact paypal you should be able to get your money back if you explain that they are not providing the service you paid for... Good luck with your new hosts guys...
