hostony.com down

I have some sites hsoted with hostony. they are down for about one hour. I spoke with live support and they say they are rebooting and hope to be online in one hour. I am no hosting expert, but does reboot take 2 hours? I know a normal server usually takes much less to do a reboot.

well, reboot hardly takes second..they might be doing an upgrade or probably they are experiencing some problem, which they do not consider safe or necessary to share with customers... My guess totally...

The reboot itself takes very little time, but for all services to be back up and running on a machine can take anywhere from 45 minutes to 2 hours, especially if they are troubleshooting a machine trying to find out the reason behind having to reboot the machine.

is is working now, it took less than 1 extra hour they told me. but I have to mention their live chat is better if they would not have it. I asked if it is possible to schedule reboots in some other time of the day and the guy there just closed the session but probably this is regular procedure there because is not first time ...

I would think they target scheduled reboots for the US clients who *may/should* be sleeping, but you appear to be located elsewhere, so maybe you can get a time frame from them so you can be aware of when to expect any planned maintenance
