I'm moving my 9 sites on three accounts off of Linkstream - 2 ye4ars of good service ends in two shaky months.... Just one simple e-mail or forum posting would make a world of difference in the anger factor.

A note from Ed - about 28 hours too late.... --- copied message --- I apologize for all the downtime and frustration. Our data center renumbered their network without giving us a enough notice. We've updated all the IP's, but the nameservers still need time to propagate so the domain names will resolve. If you need access to you site(s) use the IP 69.72.228.210. This will work for cpanel, whm, etc. --- end of copy --- I'm grabbing backups!!

They *finally* got e-mail and FTP back up & running on the Banquo server. I had to bail out one of the folks that i referred to linkstream - can't decide if i should move them back there to finish out the year of hosting they bought.... Still no response on honoring the downtime policy - no refund or indiciation that a refund will be coming. Also, the support ticket system has expired - how to put in a support request? Hosting is obviously a competitive business - why does it seem to have so many sleazy operators? Sure, get out of the business if it's not worth it to you, but AT LEAST sell/transfer/give the accounts to a similar hosting company instead of just letting the servers crash & burn - it's the only decent thing to do..... Issues after issues with linkstream. They mess up with my addon domains, more than 30 hours of outtage in a row this month!, don't reply to tickets (when they had still the license), a nightmare! A shame this forum is not optimized for search engine. I wish I had seen your bad reviews before signing up with them! Emmanuel

You probably would not have seen much in the way of bad reviews prior to July 9, 2004, the data of the beginning of the end of my trust in them. A year ago, support tickets were answered within a few hours and the servers were stable. Supposedly, the data center took some actions that affected service, but my experience is that they give fair warning. Judging from teh time it takes to get service tickets answered, I imagine that such warnings were not being attended to either. Hosting company administrators often fail to realize that their main function is not running servers, but to communicate with their clients what is going on when something does go wrong. I have moved to Surpass hosting because of their obvious commitment to communicating about and showing the status of their servers. I don't expect perfection, but I do expect communication. I am looking for other LinkStream customers who are having problems stopping the automatic payments and/or getting refunds. Mr Edward French is going to find that the pitiful $$$ he is ripping off from me is NOT GOING TO BE WORTH THE HASSLE HE IS ABOUT TO GET.

I am definitely with you Samatva. Have you got any idea about how to proceed?
