The 67.19.x.x subnet seems to be down.

Orbit is down as well.

Traceroute in posted as an attachment, I've been seeing packetloss for a few minutes now. Here's the outgoing trace:
I don't believe there are issues with other lines though.

But there is a problem... theres a dip of around 1gbit on the network flow graph.

67.19.xx.xx Is having issue's for us too...
|

Anybody going over GlobalCrossing or AT&T might be having problems... they both have massive dips in their bandwidth on Orbit.
|
Posted by mainarea, 10-24-2004, 03:24 PM |
Yep, ATT & GlobalCrossing both have massive instantaneous drops on the graphs, maybe it's a fiber issue? Maybe not. Either way, things still aren't working.

|
Posted by GameDose, 10-24-2004, 04:10 PM |
what are the issues though?
|
Posted by coight, 10-24-2004, 04:17 PM |
Nlayer is dropping packets because it's maxing out. It's maxed out a few times in the last 3 hours. Level3 seems very close to maxing out on one link. UUnet looks fine.

GlobalCrossing and ATT are back to normal now.
|
Posted by CPUHosting, 10-24-2004, 06:29 PM |
We were having issues with NLayer as well. It seems to be dropping down usage wise so those issues are starting to fade. For awhile it was marked at 1.0 GBit/sec.

I wonder what happened, are they maxing out their bandwidth allocation?
|
Posted by odsdc, 10-24-2004, 07:19 PM |
all our planet servers are down...
|
Posted by coight, 10-24-2004, 08:58 PM |
Not all links but 3-4 of their gige lines have maxed out or come very close to it in the last 2-3 weeks. Looks like their cogent lines are getting pretty full also I was checking 2 weeks back and usage was around 600mbit each constant now their around 800mbit.

This has really opened my eyes. I am an EV1 customer and was thinking about switching to ThePlanet, But after reading about all their bandwidth issues I think I should just be happy with what I have as I have Never had a network related issues in the 3-4 years I have been with them..

Posted by coight, 10-24-2004, 09:52 PM |
Not to worry, they have 5gbps of connectivity coming before the end of the month.
|
Posted by dotSecurity, 10-24-2004, 10:35 PM |
The reasons they are probably maxing on some links is due to the issues in ATT & GlobalCrossing. This is not good, and they should be able to sustain their DC if a few links have issues, thats the idea of redundant links.
Luckily we stoped using TP servers months ago, and only have a few left there. I didn't personally notice the slowness, as from Australia we tend to go through level 3.
