Firewall Blocking cpanel and WHM

Posted by rpoarch, 04-26-2017, 11:36 PM
Hey everyone! Quick question. On my desktop computer at work I can access my main websites cpanel on my reseller account. However when I try to login to my other websites cpanel it gives me a firewall error that I can't bypass for some reason. It also won't let me access the WHM for the reseller account due to the firewall. Unfortunately I don't have administrative access to my computer, so I can't download or go in and change the firewall settings (at least not that I'm aware of). So that leads me to the question, is there anything I can possibly do to where it doesn't block WHM for my reseller account and cpanel for my secondary website? Maybe there is something I can go into Mozilla or Internet Explorer settings and change so that it will allow the websites cpanel and WHM to work. This is very frustrating because I'm now having to use my android phone to work on my website and to login to WHM for the reseller. This is very frustrating as I don't have anything on my phone that is considered a decent html editor. Please help!!!

If I am reading correctly (only one coffee into the day) a proxy may help. If this is an ongoing issue you can create yourself one quite cheaply.

You hit the nail on the head. OP get a cheap VPS and install you a secure proxy.

I have tried using web browser proxys but haven't had any success with that. I have loged into my main domain's cpanel on reseller account (works just fine), and tried switching to the other domain and it doesn't work. I have tried bypassing the port by going to cpanel.domain.com, and no luck. This is so frustrating.

Try a diff proxy like not web browser based but there are proxys where you log in on your desktop and it'll work then maybe . Search VPN that can possibly make it work for you.

Clearing my browser cache fixed the problem with being able to login to cPanel, but it didn't work for WHM. Last edited by rpoarch; 04-27-2017 at 10:42 AM. Reason: nevermind, going to whm.domain.com worked just fine.

I think we all get those issues from time to time. If IP got blocked and wanted to get around that or updated DNS and wanted to see the domain load from new nameservers/IP addresses quicker then I would just switch DNS servers from home/PC to google nameservers or vice-verser temporarily. Now I just use a VPN so can easily change IP address if needed.
