Posted by nicmo, 06-09-2004, 02:46 PM
its funny.... http://www.managed.com/ never seems to go down when this happens. This is just great, i am buying lots of traffic for my new site all this week and now my traffic payed with $$$ is pointing to a dead link!!!!!!!!!!!!

My main websites server is on managed.com and its was not down for, even for a minute! I guess the problem is isolated to server with Angel Networkz

Posted by xJadex, 06-09-2004, 02:50 PM
that site never down....if it's down then i think managed shouldn't do business anymore..hehehee

Posted by geeks4help, 06-09-2004, 02:51 PM
Even I think it is a problem with AN servers.

Posted by Darkanoid, 06-09-2004, 02:51 PM
205.209.X.X and not at angelz im happy with my main server at SM yeah be honest only thing what you can host on a managed box is teamspeak and some shoutcast LMAO

Posted by ranjitbhar, 06-09-2004, 02:52 PM
I just did a traceroute and now I am going via xo.net I used to go via abovenet

Posted by geeks4help, 06-09-2004, 02:54 PM
I think recently some of the servers were moved to XO. There was a thread on this issue few days back.

Posted by Darkanoid, 06-09-2004, 02:55 PM
Was funny though i was mirroring the new demo of joint operations pushing 65mbit and i went down so i thought that they disconnected me.

Posted by ranjitbhar, 06-09-2004, 02:56 PM
Dont know about the XO stuff but last time also when some managed servers went down my server was online and its online even now, I guess a part of there network is down, I guess I am lucky twice!

Posted by Projektzwo, 06-09-2004, 02:59 PM

Posted by biTe, 06-09-2004, 03:30 PM
i dont see xo but my ping times are like 10% faster now.... hope it stays this way.

The problem was a subnet issue with the 205 ip block.

Posted by Mormegil, 06-09-2004, 03:39 PM
that doesn't say much

Posted by eLiTeGuRu, 06-09-2004, 04:26 PM
Down for atleast 55 mins.

Posted by Joshua, 06-09-2004, 04:31 PM
That's the 2nd issue with that subnet in less than 2 weeks. My server is on that, and wasn't responding during that time. Funny though, as this starts a new monthly period for me, and I haven't paid for this period, AND that I sent them a cancellation email to their billing department. -Josh

Posted by Darkanoid, 06-09-2004, 04:43 PM
do you get an email if they want you to pay in paypal nex period? is my first month now with them

Posted by ranjitbhar, 06-09-2004, 06:09 PM
If you signed up using paypal option then you will get a email with to pay via paypal

Posted by fatbyte, 06-09-2004, 07:34 PM
i prepaid my second month already, hope they'll recognize it as a payment. last time i prepaid it took them 2 weeks to find out that i've already paid something i ordered...

Posted by ranjitbhar, 06-10-2004, 03:03 AM
fatbyte its a good idea to email there support dept to notify them that you have already paid........ just to avoid later on confusion! Coz I have a server with managed and its due date was on 1st a couple of months ago, first was on a weekend and I emailed support asking them should I paid with paypal, they told me not to pay as their account dept would send me a paypal invoice I got it on 4th of the month and then I paid for my server.

If anyone cares the problem was they were testing XO's gigabit port and didn't realise that XO hadn't updated their routing tables to include the 205 block so routing got dampened while the update occured, then things went back to normal. It affected the 205.209.x.x block completely no matter which part of the network they were on
