Looks down. Wow, now everybody is crying.

Posted by NE-Andy, 01-06-2004, 03:02 AM
Well... considering that everyone jumped on the Managed.com bandwagon; and lots of resellers are using them because of this new brust of cheap offers as a result of that, I wouldn't be too surprised if everyone starts to cry...

Posted by cDedicated.com, 01-06-2004, 03:02 AM
And No One from Managed.com's "24/7 Emergency Techs" can't fix this issue?

Posted by kris1351, 01-06-2004, 03:02 AM
Yea looks like they are down here now.

Posted by cDedicated.com, 01-06-2004, 03:05 AM
This is the third or second time this week ,that there network down without any warrnings and explnations from Managed.com

Posted by NE-Andy, 01-06-2004, 03:06 AM
*sigh* This happened on DAY 1 of my hosting plan -.-" Geesh... Should've staied with my old host... Now I'm beginning to have second thoughts about this -.-"

Posted by WirralNet Matt, 01-06-2004, 03:07 AM
It is at this point i mention the name FDC

Posted by brycewilson, 01-06-2004, 03:07 AM
this is why there is just some test files on my server...just for me to test speeds..uptime..etc.. nothing has been moved from my SM boxes

Posted by cDedicated.com, 01-06-2004, 03:09 AM
Sucks this downtime is tooo long ,Some maybe leav near the Managed.com's DC so he can knock there's door and help the "24/7 Emergency Techs" to fix this issue?

Posted by pmcdonnell, 01-06-2004, 03:09 AM
They are down here as well. I just signed up with them for one of there servers, oh well back to my old host even though they s**k too. Is there any host out there that is reliable w/1000gb bandwdth and cpanel for ~$100.00?

Posted by wheimeng, 01-06-2004, 03:11 AM
Down all the way... Can't complaint much for the price you way.

Posted by cDedicated.com, 01-06-2004, 03:11 AM
sagonet.com -maybe... the most cheap i know...

Posted by desman, 01-06-2004, 03:11 AM
You’d wonder why they don’t have their server on another network for situations like this, so a support email could actually reach them.

Posted by Cloudster, 01-06-2004, 03:11 AM
They sure are!

Posted by cDedicated.com, 01-06-2004, 03:12 AM

Posted by brycewilson, 01-06-2004, 03:12 AM
i have had 100% uptime with Server Matrix

Posted by Curto, 01-06-2004, 03:12 AM
Pity the voicemail machine can't fix a network ;p Press 1 to change bandwidth providers Press 2 to upgrade from 10bt to gigE Press 3 to watch some pigs fly

Posted by cDedicated.com, 01-06-2004, 03:16 AM
You know its sucks that they not warnning there customers before the downtimes, good company should send out emails about comming downtimes. They even can't send now emails that explain what cause this downtime and when it will be fixed....

Posted by null, 01-06-2004, 03:16 AM
down here, FDC is spreading ....

Posted by NE-Andy, 01-06-2004, 03:16 AM
*sigh* Is there any other host with ~150GB of band for $20? No, because the only way for people to provide reseller like that with price like that is because Managed.com can provide it dirt cheap. But their service sure seems like dirt -.-"

Posted by cDedicated.com, 01-06-2004, 03:18 AM
Maybe but just maybe? they installing now the Global Crossing lines....thats why we feel the downtime?

Posted by trademe, 01-06-2004, 03:18 AM

Posted by pmcdonnell, 01-06-2004, 03:19 AM

Posted by WirralNet Matt, 01-06-2004, 03:20 AM

Oh well, now we can all ask for our FREE 100GB transfers "IV. Uptime Guarantee Managed.com guarantees that our network will be available 99.9% (no more than 45 minutes) of the time in a given month excluding scheduled maintenance. In the event that our network is inaccessible for more than one hour during any thirty (30) days period, each customer will automatically be granted an additional 100GB of data transfer free of charge for the following month as compensation for the aforementioned downtime."

Posted by null, 01-06-2004, 03:43 AM
Anyone?

Posted by Cloudster, 01-06-2004, 03:46 AM
Ask them or setup MRTG to see for yourself

Posted by thedavid, 01-06-2004, 03:46 AM
Threads merged for neatness...

Posted by kris1351, 01-06-2004, 03:47 AM
Well, we were going to give them a shot after all the botched up order problems (7 days to get installed). I wouldn't normally hold that against them, but they were very slow with responses and they weren't truly honest with what they were saying. Maybe in 6 months we will give them a try for some of our backup servers, but we are cancelling this. This is multiple downtimes with no "real" explanation in the last week and the fact they do not answer phones or tickets just un-nerves me.

Posted by null, 01-06-2004, 03:47 AM
I have MRGT stats from them http://mrtg.managed.com/9b/66.79.191.254_fa0_15.html but it won't say how much bandwidth I used

Posted by barko, 01-06-2004, 03:48 AM
And you think that you will actually use it?

Posted by jasonl813, 01-06-2004, 03:49 AM
You must know the rack number you are on. I figured it out by my initial machine name. So my machine name is say R1A-H13 So I would be on rack 1a and port 13. The port also corresponds to the last part of your IP so I am port 13 and my IP is also xx.xxx.xx.130 (figured that out since I have more than one server there) The MRTG graph are fis at http://mrtg.managed.com/1a/ and then I could click on port 13's graph and see my statistics.

Posted by null, 01-06-2004, 03:50 AM
Again, MRGT graphs won't show bandwidth usage for month

Posted by jasonl813, 01-06-2004, 03:51 AM
Take the monthly In and Out (average) and multiply by 329400 and that is what they calculate your monthly bandwidth usage in MB.

Posted by cynix, 01-06-2004, 03:55 AM
http://www.managed.com/service_agreement_content.htm however this give you bytes, not gigabytes...

Posted by null, 01-06-2004, 04:07 AM
that's not a problem, thanks!

Posted by null, 01-06-2004, 04:24 AM
down again

Posted by brycewilson, 01-06-2004, 04:28 AM
im still up

Posted by kris1351, 01-06-2004, 04:32 AM
I am just glad we didn't put anything on these yet. We are seeing 1000+ ping times, but still semi-steady. Our Siteuptime is just banging away tonight. LOL

Posted by WirralNet Matt, 01-06-2004, 07:04 AM
Did anybody actually manage to find out why they went down this time? Jesus christ, manged.com is pinging at about 800ms

Posted by DaHOST, 01-06-2004, 11:20 AM
Looks like I have to cancel my order I placed on Friday (That still isn't ready yet) and go with SM.

Posted by kris1351, 01-06-2004, 01:01 PM
Funny, haven't been able to get a support ticket responded to in less than 16 hours while trying to figure out what is going on with setups then getitng reverse addresses setup. Send in a cancellation email and get less than a couple of hours. They never said why they were down. Last night alone was more downtime than servers we have with EV1 experienced in the last year and a half. We cancelled and ordered more with SM.

Posted by Cloudster, 01-06-2004, 05:47 PM
Anyone find out why yet?

Posted by Steven, 01-06-2004, 07:59 PM
i think msg is ignoring this thread.

Posted by tommyd, 01-07-2004, 12:48 AM
Hello There, To Try to shead light on all for everyone it was due to a DDOS attack last night, is what caused the down time. Thank You, Tom

Posted by alphonso, 01-07-2004, 01:01 AM
Thanks for the update, Tom. How did you learn about this? Phone call, email, support ticket? I've got my server but am still getting it ready, so I only noticed the first downtime as I happened to be trying to connect to it. Hope Managed gets their forums up soon.

Posted by jasonl813, 01-07-2004, 01:03 AM
Yes, forums would be nice, but I think they should have their support ticket system and forums located off their network in case they do have network issues.

Posted by alphonso, 01-07-2004, 01:07 AM
ServerMatrix?

Posted by tommyd, 01-07-2004, 01:26 AM
I emailed them this morning and got my information. I am told some changes for the better sometime soon, so we will see. The Global Crossing should be soon as well as quick as they can get the fiber in. Servermatrix I had no complaints with at all, customer service is slow though for the tickets I placed when I had them. -Tom

Posted by jasonl813, 01-07-2004, 01:34 AM
I think he was suggesting MSG keep their forum and tickets on a ServerMatrix machine.

Posted by alphonso, 01-07-2004, 01:41 AM
Thanks again. ServerMatrix has the best low-cost rep from my WHT reading (at least this last month). (Wait?! So why am I at Managed.com?) Semi-seriously, maybe we could feed WHT post subjects and text, filter for words and post the results like MRTG graphs for the various companies. Heck, we don't need to bother with processing words, we could just count non-sig smilies...

Zoinks! Can't wait to hear a response on that one. If there is one.

Posted by SteveD3, 01-08-2004, 12:11 AM
Will they post a responce here? I want to try them, and will still do it if this is the 1st major outage, and if it really was caused by a jerk with time to kill and dos things. What was the up time before this happened anyone have a ball park figure? -Steve

Posted by tommyd, 01-08-2004, 12:16 AM
It was like 99.99 if not 100% before that ddos

Posted by SteveD3, 01-08-2004, 12:21 AM
tomsayer, Im sorry I ment like how many days, weeks, months etc. in a row. Like I have 3 servers in exchange with *knock on wood* 3 months solid now. 6 in texas and 5 of them are solid green for 5 months with no major downtime. One of them is up but still isnt working right. It's uptime is now 18 hours :-( -Steve

Posted by jasonl813, 01-08-2004, 12:22 AM
They have been right at their 99.9% a month before this.

Posted by SteveD3, 01-08-2004, 12:24 AM
Thanks Jason. I hope they come back soon for all of you. I can personaly vouch that server downtime is hella stressful. -Steve
