spenix.com / spenix - cb.fxsonet.com One of our servers has suffered a harddrive problem the data center techs are trying to restore this as quickly as possible. We have no ETA on this, it may be a few hours, however we are fully aware of the situtation and are working as quickly as we can to resolve this. Our apologises in the meantime.

To all concerned, I apologise in advance for the inarticulate manner in which this e-mail will be written. I honestly do not know what to say. I regret to inform you that all material on server cb.fxsonet.com has been deleted including all backups on the secondary backup hard drive, I can not apologise and share your frustration enough, in losing the significant portion of my business that I have dedicated all my time and effort into and accordingly all sites , I understand how you must be feeling. We are suspecting an attack of some kind, however at this stage we can not rule out a panic on the kernel with the filesystems (although it would seem unlikely). The security features all present and correct (latest stable kerenl/apache/ssh, iptables firewall, brute-force detection, anti-DOS) it is difficult to see what we could of done to prevent this, we have invested so much time and monetary resources into our security. Subsequently this is one issue we were confident we would never face any problems in, our systems have even been locked down an independent security guru. If an attack did occur then this delibrate, pre-meditated and malicous attack I am sure you will agree is unbelieveable. Myself and spenix are tracing what we can and are determine to find who has thrust this disaster upon us. All that is left for me to say, again is how sorry I am to have to inform you of this unimagineable news. But please have confidence in me and Spenix that we will do our very best to find thse criminals and we will be back! We will not let them win!. In such situations I am sure you will all agree failure is not an option. For those of you who have backups of your site and still have some remaining faith left with us, we can recreate your account on another server and we can update our DNS pointer accordingly, send an email to us with a desired username and your primary account domain. If you would like to completely cancel your Spenix hosting service then that is understandable and I wish you the best of fortune with your new host, if you send an email to us with your domain name and paysystems.com username we can remove you from the payment system. Deepest apologises, Matt Freeman http://www.spenix.com mattfreeman@spenix.com
